The Gathering 01.96 – Like Me Now? – Introduction of the King pt 3
“I’ve never seen so much stuff….” Sam lamented as she plopped down on the couch, then reaching under her and pulling out a toy car from under her ***** and letting it clatter onto the floor. Shane smiled, she was absolutely beaming. Alice and Dana had bailed early, Dana having been scheduled for an appearance, and Alice was going with her, the token wife.
“He’s a kid, we needed to get some stuff.”
“Stuff? Stuff!” Sam said, her arms sweeping what was left of their living room, every inch was covered in clothes, toys, and other items purchased on the ***** Shopping Spree of Summer of 2006. Bette, Tina, Jayden, Lara and themselves had been out of the house for over 7 hours, shopping. It boggled Sam’s mind, and she’d done something she’d never done before, maxed out a credit card.
“I think he needs this stuff, and would you stop being a spoilt sport, are you going to tell me that you are broke? I know it ain’t true my love. Quit being a brat.” Shane said, she knelt on the floor in front of Sam and pushed her knees open and nestled herself between them. Sam ran a loving finger down along her face, her grey eyes studying Shane.
They heard talking coming down the stairs and Tina and Jayden appeared, having put the littlest prince to bed. Jesse had been wonderful, most of the day. Up until about an hour before getting home, he’d turned into a cranky, well, three year old. He’d had enough excitement and wanted his bed. He’d cried, he’d yelled and thrown a tantrum that only Shane could calm him down from.
“The boy is in bed he’s just like CJ, cranky when he’s tired.” Jayden said, surveying the living room and seeing that she couldn’t sit down, so she grabbed a pile of clothes and made a spot. They heard Lara and Bette moving around in the kitchen they were making a very late supper.
“What if…” They heard Bette talking, and then she came walking out of the kitchen and out onto the patio, talking on her cell phone, shaking her head and waving her arms.
