She was being obsessive she thought to herself.  It was a funk that is all it was.  She nodded to herself.

            “That is all it is, a funk.”  The woman she was scanning groceries for asked.

            “Excuse me dear?”  Jenny just smiled sweetly shaking her head.

            “Sorry ma’am I was just thinking to myself.  I am sorry.”  The woman just nodded and gave Jenny a sideways glance stepping back from the register.  Jenny almost rolled her eyes in a sarcastic gesture, but she thought better of it.  Then the woman would really thing she’d gone insane.  Jenny just smiled.

            “Bette I have not seen her today, she has not been in and I am worried about her.  I called her because the final fitting for her dress is this afternoon and she cannot miss it.  The bridal shop called to remind her.”  Marina stated taking a wad of one dollar bills from a customer and handing back change.  She smiled and muttered a thank you.  Bette asked her.

            “What?” 

            “Not you Bette, I was giving someone some change.  I will call you the instant she comes in; I promise.”  Marina said softly, the concern in her voice evident to Bette. 

            “I’m sorry Marina, I’m worried too.  Thanks for calling me when she gets there.”  Bette hung up as did Marina.  She saw Lara standing in the kitchen, seemingly frazzled by another delay in the remodeling. 

            It had been a spur of the moment decision on her part, hiring the tempting chef.  It had been the right one, she was sure.  They would be opening Atmosphere to the public in a week, and it was gearing up to be something special.  She stood at the counter of the Planet, feeling proud of herself for having finally gotten out from under the rock called Francesca. 

            It had felt even better earlier today when she’d seen Francesca on the street; and her old flame had gone over to her.  Flirting and acting as if everything was just the way it had always been.  Marina had be stunned and then angry, she’d told Francesca in an even voice that she no longer cared what she thought nor did she need her for anything other than bad memories.  She smiled at the freeing memory.
