    The Gathering 01.27 – Lonesome & Lies

                Her opponent Bree Langton walked up to the net as did Dana.  Dana noticed her shapely legs as she walked to her.  She was a dark skinned woman with the darkest eyes she’d ever seen.  Even darker than Bette‘s, thought Dana.  Long legs that seemed to go on for a mile and long elegant fingers that would touch you in places you’d never been touched before.  Dana pushed the thought out of her head.  Quit it Dane.

                “So Fairbanks, you threw that one didn’t you?  I mean you usually swat my ***** pretty darn good, but this was a give-me right?”  Dana laughed nodding enthusiastically, hoping she was being convincing enough.

                “Of course, I have to keep you interested, right?”  Bree chuckled and handed her the tennis ball with a wink of her chocolate eyes.

                “One more game and I have to go meet my boyfriend for some afternoon delight?”  Dana walked back to the line; looking at Bree.

                “Is that a kind of dessert?”

    *****

    “No, no, no and no again!”
    Lara threw her ands up in the air.  Stifling the yell of rage that was bubbling to the surface.  She was reorganizing the kitchen, her kitchen and it seemed that everyone was doing it their way and not her way.

                Wow, what a thought. Her kitchen her very own domain, her place to be, to create, to love to work and to simply be.  She smiled, a bit of the stress falling away from her slight shoulders.  She cracked her fingers and moved the knife set and turned to her assistant chef.

                “I don’t want to work over there it has to be here, where the natural light is coming in from the windows.  It’s just really good for me there.”  Lara said, calming herself.  She hadn’t cooked anything in worthwhile in two days save for the frozen pizza she’d stuffed down at 1am the night before.  She’d been to busy getting the counter’s set up and getting her new oven’s installed.  The assistant, Calvin nodded, he was a sweet man.  Lara sighed softly;

                “I’m sorry Calvin; I didn’t mean to be so bossy.”  Calvin grinned, and Lara wondered if he was going to put a knife in her back when she turned away.
