The Dying of the Light Part 7
Bette glanced over and Kit. She knew that she was only trying to help, but staying at Helena’s on the beach was a comfort that she wasn’t ready to give up. She could also walk around at 3 in the morning without having someone in her back pocket asking her what was wrong, when in all honesty the question of what isn’t wrong would be better suited. She just wanted to be left alone, and at least Helena tended to respect her wishes, all her sister ever wanted to do was talk and comfort. Bette wasn’t in the mood.
She’d been out of sorts since she woke up without Angelica. Her injured hand was throbbing in time with her heart, proving to her that her heart wasn’t broken literally even if it was metaphorically, and her colour bone was tickled with the residual feeling of Angelica’s breathes.
It was like she was still there, even if she wasn’t. Bette held onto that feeling for the moment before she really woke up, the scratchy sheets seemingly rubbing her skin raw, and the pillow enveloping her head with its excessive softness. She wasn’t happy, but she would have lived a million of those mornings if it meant she could see her daughter.
Eventually the doctors came around, the neurologist was ‘cautious’ about her recovery, but he counselled optimism, while the doctor on call was relatively impressed with her recovery so agreed to discharge her today, with the promise she would visit her GP tomorrow. Bette wasn’t sure she was going to follow through, but if it meant she could escape the claustrophobic rooms, she would in a heartbeat.
“Helena called, she said if you wanted to stay with me that she’d bring over your stuff.” Kit carried on, oblivious the the now angry look being directed her way. “We all thought that you wouldn’t want to be in the house right now.”
“Have you all decided on what my bed time is? Do I get an allowance?” Bette question snidely.
Kit was taken aback by the tone of Bette’s voice, “What’s wrong baby girl?”
“I’m a big girl who is, contrary to popular belief, able to decide where I want to sleep.” She took a deep breath, the skin around her ribs pulling tightly, making her feel a little confined. “And that is at Helena’s.” Bette decisively added, slumping down in the seat.

Rveryone seems to think its Tinas fault that Bette went to pieces, HER insurity has a lot to do with that. She had Tina served with full custody of Angie.when Tina told her she and Henry was going to get married henry would adopt Angie, Bette took Angie, them Tina took Angie . That was all wrong.on both party. Each one had a reason for doing this. Alice has no reason by telling Tina that she was sleeping with a man. As it started a long time before that. with Bette sleeping with Candance. Let the two of them fight their oun battles and they will do what is best for Angie. Tina was fighting for her birth child, and Bette is fighting for her child. SorryI just hate to see Tina being beat up so much .thanks
I sure hope they talk and get everything out on the table. They both have a right to be angry but it is time to let it go. pps
Hey wasnt being gripe with you didnt want to think I was being dis respectful to you, you write Alice so well,Just like she was in the show. thanks
Wow that truly is a cliffhanger there! This is an excellent story, one so full of emotion, I just hope they can work it out. Thanks for posting again, I was able to catch up, and I can’t wait for the next installment.
Hello Dee… Wow… you are still pulling so much out… each word is completely immersed in the emotions that have crafted them… I completely agree with Alice and Helena… I am no against Tina… I think she has her reasons… but there is only so much a person can take before they become irreparable… Yes Bette has made mistakes in the past… and yes she has suffered them… but during Tina’s suffering I remember Bette being there for her as much as she could… she left an important business engagement so she could be there for T… I think in this instance Bette should tell Tina to leave and that when she was ready to talk she would call her.. Bette needs to take back some control of her life… she needs to find her balance and her back bone… I love Bette and Tina together… but they both need to take responsibility for their own actions… I think Bette has suffered the most of both of them… cause she did do it alone for some long until her friends came around to seeing her true despair… Sorry for being absent my friend and well you better be back soon, JC (Latin Nephew to those Salsa Angels and the ever talented and inspiring Eunichick)
I just caught up on all you chapters. Excellent story ! So sad and emotional – like season 3 – i tried to block that season out like a train wreck waiting to happen – but i am so drawn to see how you make it work out. I can’t wait to see where this goes. PPS
OMG…there you go again with the cliffhanger. You’re getting good at that. :) Please let Tina be gentle with Bette. Can’t she see how broken she is? Can’t wait to see where this goes. PPS
What an emotional chapter! I hope they manage a good talk, and that Tina starts to see the depths of Bette’s despair. Can’t wait for more, PPS.
I am glad Tina is comming arounf. Now please do not let them fight. Thanks PPS
I am sorry i love Bette infact i don’t know what I am going to do without my yearly dose of TLW or hourly dose of tibette fanfic but all these girls keep forgetting or are justifying why Bette took Angelica in the middle of the night. I am sorry Tina has every right to be pissed, angry…usually I defend Alice wackiness, smart comments because most of the time they border some bold truth and this time is not so different but for Christ sake if you are going to burn one then burn both or just ZIP IT!!. As far as the story goes, full of strong emotion.. it is going to be one heck of a ride. PPS
