The Dying of the Light Part 7

It was like loosing an arm.  A phantom pain of what used to be there, what used to be a part of your body.

The nerves dance up and down, lying to the brain.  For one single second you believe that is it real, the despite the pain that it bought by the haunting’s you allow yourself the comfort that the arm is still here.

It hurts, it must be real.  Pain is sometimes the only way that you know you are alive.

You tell your brain to move your arm, but nothing happens.

A moment of panic follows, only a moment, until you remember.

Memory doesn’t erase the pain.  The receptors are still on the job and messages are still being sent.

With, or without the limb – it still hurts.

She is like an amputee with all of her limbs; will the pain ever stop?

Helena, Tina and Alice were sitting around the living room of Bette and Tina’s house.  The room was quiet, filled with an almost suffocating tension as the women think about what has not been said.

Tina was rubbing her arms, the soft hairs tickling her palms making them itch.  She scratches them on her jeans, the woven material offering her a respite.  Nerves we dancing in her stomach, making her feel queazy.  Her friends were here, people that she would usually feel comfortable with, and all she felt was fear.  They weren’t happy with her, and she was unsure of how she could get them to understand why she acted the way she did.

“Tina.  I want you to consider something.”  Helena offered, drawing both Alice and Tina out of their self contemplation.  “I know you are angry at Bette for taking Angelica.  Remember how you felt when Bette took Angelica for a day?”

Tina nodded, tears coming to her eyes and she experienced an echo of what she did that day.  Finding out that Bette had left, checked out of the hotel.  Taking away her one connection with the woman she loved in a single moment.  Her blood, her pride and her joy.  She had never been so afraid that Bette would take the love of her life from her.  Yet, there was always a voice that told her that Bette would never be that malicious, she would never ever do that.  She knew that there was something wrong, but she couldn’t get passed her anger.

    1. Rveryone seems to think its Tinas fault that Bette went to pieces, HER insurity has a lot to do with that. She had Tina served with full custody of Angie.when Tina told her she and Henry was going to get married henry would adopt Angie, Bette took Angie, them Tina took Angie . That was all wrong.on both party. Each one had a reason for doing this. Alice has no reason by telling Tina that she was sleeping with a man. As it started a long time before that. with Bette sleeping with Candance. Let the two of them fight their oun battles and they will do what is best for Angie. Tina was fighting for her birth child, and Bette is fighting for her child. SorryI just hate to see Tina being beat up so much .thanks

    2. Wow that truly is a cliffhanger there! This is an excellent story, one so full of emotion, I just hope they can work it out. Thanks for posting again, I was able to catch up, and I can’t wait for the next installment.

    3. Hello Dee… Wow… you are still pulling so much out… each word is completely immersed in the emotions that have crafted them… I completely agree with Alice and Helena… I am no against Tina… I think she has her reasons… but there is only so much a person can take before they become irreparable… Yes Bette has made mistakes in the past… and yes she has suffered them… but during Tina’s suffering I remember Bette being there for her as much as she could… she left an important business engagement so she could be there for T… I think in this instance Bette should tell Tina to leave and that when she was ready to talk she would call her.. Bette needs to take back some control of her life… she needs to find her balance and her back bone… I love Bette and Tina together… but they both need to take responsibility for their own actions… I think Bette has suffered the most of both of them… cause she did do it alone for some long until her friends came around to seeing her true despair… Sorry for being absent my friend and well you better be back soon, JC (Latin Nephew to those Salsa Angels and the ever talented and inspiring Eunichick)

    4. I just caught up on all you chapters. Excellent story ! So sad and emotional – like season 3 – i tried to block that season out like a train wreck waiting to happen – but i am so drawn to see how you make it work out. I can’t wait to see where this goes. PPS

    5. OMG…there you go again with the cliffhanger. You’re getting good at that. :) Please let Tina be gentle with Bette. Can’t she see how broken she is? Can’t wait to see where this goes. PPS

    6. I am sorry i love Bette infact i don’t know what I am going to do without my yearly dose of TLW or hourly dose of tibette fanfic but all these girls keep forgetting or are justifying why Bette took Angelica in the middle of the night. I am sorry Tina has every right to be pissed, angry…usually I defend Alice wackiness, smart comments because most of the time they border some bold truth and this time is not so different but for Christ sake if you are going to burn one then burn both or just ZIP IT!!. As far as the story goes, full of strong emotion.. it is going to be one heck of a ride. PPS
