    The earring

     

    “Yeah, the operative word being “Probably” Bette answered

     

    “Bette, I don’t get it, for the last several months you went out of your way to avoid Tina I mean you basically ignored her, changed the subject when Alice and I would talk about her you were a no, show on her birthday her graduation, You walked out of clubs as soon as you noticed she was there, what changed?” Shane took a deep breath. “And now you see her here tonight and all of the sudden you’re acting like a jealous girlfriend what’s going on?”

     

    Bette didn’t reply

     

    “Look Bette, Tina told me what happened between you two”

     

    Bette suddenly turned and looked at Shane, as she felt the heat rise to her face.

     

    “Bette, your one of my best friends, don’t ever doubt that, but I won’t let you hurt Tina, she has become like family to me I’ve seen you go after things you want your relentless especially if you think those things are un attainable you become even more ruthless, whatever it is your feeling for her make sure no one gets hurt.  I saw the hurt in Tina for weeks after whatever transpired between the two of you and I don’t want to see her go through that again” Shane said

     

    They both stood there for a while both not really sure what to say then Bette spoke.

     

     

    “Shane I can’t begin to explain what’s going on with me, all I know Tina’s been in my thoughts for a while now, ever since that night, that night that I knew should have NEVER happened, the only way I managed to push her out of my thoughts was by immersing myself in my work and meaningless one night stands then I see her tonight and..Uugh!!!  she’s looking so damn sexy, so confidant so much more self assured for lack of a better word, and It kills me that I wasn’t there to see her, to help her through all the changes she had to go through believe me Shane the last thing I want to do is hurt her again, I’m just afraid that in the end I just might do exactly that, and it scares me”

    2. thanks for the update, I missed this story…….Tina is sure occupying Bette’s mind and its her turn to make Bette work hard for avoiding her and hurting her feelings. Bette needs to show Tina her sincerity. Let Tina see her regret for huting her…..Please post soon when you have a chance.
