    The earring

    Chapter 14

     

     

     

    The party continued, and though the two women were busy chatting with guest they managed to keep track of each other, both Bette and Tina were always aware of the others were abouts.

    Bette was mildly annoyed to say the least that Tina’s very attractive boss never seem to leave Tina’s side Bette wondered if in fact they were on a date since they did manage to arrive together.  Was Tina dating? If so was it serious, Helena did seem rather possessive over Tina tonight, kit did say they spent many nights at the plant having dinner.

     

    Bette couldn’t help feel and sense of sadness take over; she started to wonder aimlessly throughout the party briefly acknowledging her guest.

    Shane noticed the blank look on her friend’s face she excused herself from the group of people she was talking to and made a beeline toward her friend side, she reached over grabbed Bette by the elbow and led her outside, as soon as they reached outside Bette took in a deep breath.

    “Bette, are you o.k.?” Shane asked

     

    “Yeah, yeah Shane I’m ok I guess I’m just tired been working so many hours I guess I was feeling a little overwhelmed in there” Bette hoped Shane did not notice the insincerity in her voice

     

    “Is that why you can’t seem to keep your eyes off of Tina tonight? You’re tired and over whelmed” Shane asked with a raised brow

     

    “Oh and those killer looks you’ve been giving Helena Peabody tonight I’m surprised she isn’t dead and buried” Shane chuckled

     

    “Am I that obvious?” Bette asked

     

    “Only to me, that’s because I’ve known you for a while now” Shane couldn’t help but smirk “Oh, and I think, I think Kit might be on to you too” Shane added

     

    “Shane, I don’t know what to do.”

     

    “Are they dating?”

     

    “As far as I know, no”

     

    “God, it seems like Helena is glued to Tina’s side, and she hasn’t stopped touching her either” Bette said in an irritated voice

     

    “Well Bette you know Tina isn’t the most experienced as far as dating is concerned she probably can’t read the signals Miss Peabody is so obviously sending her, if I know Tina she’s probably just thinking Helena’s being overly nice”

    2. thanks for the update, I missed this story…….Tina is sure occupying Bette’s mind and its her turn to make Bette work hard for avoiding her and hurting her feelings. Bette needs to show Tina her sincerity. Let Tina see her regret for huting her…..Please post soon when you have a chance.
