Streaming through the slightly parted curtains, the sunlight cast its glow upon Shane, waking her from her slumber. Realizing morning was upon them, she smiled to herself, knowing that today was the day that she would marry the woman she loved, the woman who lay asleep, peacefully, in her arms. Snuggling up closer to her, she closes her eyes and breathes her in.  She softly coos, “Moll, baby, time to get up.”

            Molly stirs, but does not open her eyes. “Mmmmm,” she moans.

As Molly rolls onto her back, Shane lifts herself up and crawls atop her. “Moll, wake up,” Shane softly says, her lips only a hair’s breadth away from Molly’s. She lightly touches her lips to Molly’s, urging her to wake up. A sight smile spreads across Molly’s lips as she awakens. Shane kisses her again, longer this time. She watches her intently and as Molly begins to open her eyes, Shane says, “Morning,” her lips still touching Molly’s.

“Morning,” Molly says, sleepily, as she smiles.

Shane returns her smile and kisses Molly one more time. “Sleep well?”

“Mmm-hmm,” Molly replies, as she sweeps Shane’s wild mane from her face.

“Ready for today?” Shane asks, rolling onto her side and propping herself up on her elbow.

Taking Shane’s hand and lacing her fingers with hers, Molly nods her head. “You?”

Smiling with her eyes, Shane simply replies, “Yeah.”

Molly smiles brightly, her dimples appearing. Rubbing the sleep from her eyes, she says, “I should really get going. I told my mother I’d be over this morning with Daddy and Sophie for breakfast before we got our hair and nails done.”

“Okay,” Shane says, tracing her fingers down Molly’s arm. As Molly moves to get out of bed, Shane grabs her hand. “Wait.”

Falling back onto the bed, Molly leans on her elbow. “What?” she asks, smiling crookedly.

Shane just looks at Molly, wanting to remember this moment. She tucks a wayward strand of Molly’s hair behind her ear and traces her fingers along Molly’s jawline. She glides her thumb along Molly’s soft, supple lips, pulling her lower lip down as her thumb comes to rest on Molly’s chin. Leaning in, she presses her lips to Molly’s, softly and lovingly. As she pulls back from the kiss, she slowly opens her eyes and smiles. “Okay, you can go now.”
