Molly leans her face into Shane’s hand, as she wipes away her tears. Taking a deep breath to compose herself, she begins her vows. “Shane, you are my best friend, my lover, and my partner. You are the person I want to wake up next to for the rest of my life; the person I want to have a family with; the person I want to grow old with.” Molly smiles as another tear escapes from her eye. “I am so lucky and so honored that you want to share your life with me. I will spend the rest of my life trying to be worthy of that honor. I love you.”

Looking deeply into Molly’s eyes, Shane mouths back “I love you, too.”

The officiant asks Shay for the rings. After digging in his pockets, he produces the ring box and hands it to her. “Shane, Molly, please take your rings.”

Sliding Molly’s ring onto her finger, Shane says, “I promise you all that I am, all that I have and all that I ever will be. I love you.”

Molly takes Shane’s ring, slides it onto her finger and repeats what Shane had said. “I promise you all that I am, all that I have and all that I ever will be. I love you.”

Smiling crookedly, Shane bites her lower lip, excitedly anticipating the moment when she would be able to kiss her. Molly rocks back and forth on her heels, eager to kiss Shane as well. Finally the moment, they were waiting for had arrived. The officiant says, “Shane, Molly, you may seal your vows with a kiss.”

Shane takes Molly’s face in her hands and presses her lips to hers, as Molly wraps her arms around Shane’s waist. Their friends and family erupt in applause and cheers as they stand up from their seats, but neither Shane, nor Molly hear. They are lost in each other’s kiss. As they kiss, a tear of joy falls from Shane’s eye. They break from their kiss and rest their foreheads against each other’s as they slowly open their eyes. Shane smiles as Molly sweeps her thumb across her cheek, wiping away her tear.

“We did it,” Molly whispers.

“We did it,” Shane says, echoing her statement. She pulls Molly into another kiss, just as the sun slips below the horizon.
