Safe in each other’s arms…Chapter seventeen
Tommy: “I will, bye Tina.”
Miss Buchet and Tommy left Tina’s office. Tina sighed and sat down in her chair.
Tina: “That little boy was so cute. I can’t wait to be a mother too.”
Tina had another three appointments before she could finally eat. Just as she finished her sandwich, a delivery guy came in with a bouquet of beautiful white orchids.
Delivery guy: “Is there a Tina Kennard here?”
Daniel: “She’s in her office right now. I’ll bring them to her.”
Daniel went over to Tina’s office and knocked on the door.
Tina: “Come in.”
Daniel: “Tina, someone brought these for you.”
Tina: “They’re beautiful. Did he say who they are from?”
Daniel: “No, I’m going to take my break now if that’s okay with you.”
Tina: “Yeah sure, go ahead. I’ll see you in an hour.”
Daniel left Tina’s office and made his way outside. Tina looked at the card and it said:
‘T,
Even though these flowers are beautiful, they are nothing compared to your beauty.
Every day you amaze me again and I fall in love with you all over.
Your comfort and help when I was in despair has really touched me.
I love you with my entire being Tina and I will be there with you every step of the way till you give birth to our child, starting with tonight.
This is truly the most beautiful gift you could ever give me T, I can’t even begin to describe how happy and loved you make me feel. I just hope to pass some of our love and happiness on to our child.
I love you T.
You own my heart.
Bette.’
Reading this brought tears to Tina’s eyes. ‘I love you to babe’ she whispered to the card. She placed the flowers in a vase and called Bette’s cell phone. It went straight to voicemail so Tina decided to thank Bette when she got home. She couldn’t wait to go home and make a baby with Bette. She pictured her future with Bette and their child and saw images of birthdays, vacations and all other kinds of stuff you do with your family. Time flew by and before Tina even realized it, it was already quarter to six and she could go home. She quickly gathered her stuff and got in her car. All the way home she was thinking of what awaited her there.
