Rebuilding
Tina sat in stunned silence. She couldn’t believe her ears. "Babe, what happened?"
"Well, I think she knew that this was coming. She didn’t want look at me, but I made her look at me and to what I needed to say. In a nutshell, I told her that I wasn’t in love with her, our arrangement was not working, and I couldn’t see her anymore. I told her that I cared about her, but not in the way that you care about someone with whom you want to build a life. I think she figured out at that point that I was in love with someone else. I’m sure she knows it’s you, but she didn’t admit it if she did. T, she looked so defeated. I feel horrible for hurting her, but this could not wait another day."
"Oh my gosh Bette, what did she say?"
"She told me that she didn’t want to see me, unless I needed to talk to her about something at work. She told me to leave, and that she would have Tom bring me my things to my office, and he would pick up her things at the same time. Then, she walked out."
"Oh Baby, it has been a long day, I am sure you are exhausted." Tina searched Bette’s eyes, and all she could see was an inner peace she had not seen in such a long time, and of course love.
"Actually, I feel really good. I worked off my stress in the pool, and when I was finished, I found I have the two most important people in my life in my home, in our home."
Bette smiled a smile that reached her beautiful brown eyes. She leaned in and placed a delicate kiss on Tina’s lips that held the promise of so many more.
"T, why don’t you join me in the pool so-?"
"Actually, Babe, I have a better idea." Tina stood and reached for Bette’s hand. "I’m feeling a little tired, and since you are so relaxed, why don’t we go to the bedroom and go to bed? We have a lot of talking to do and can start that tomorrow, but I would just like to go to bed "
Tina’s eyes sparkled as she pulled Bette next to her, silently telling her that she really didn’t want to go to sleep. Bette couldn’t control the grin that spread across her face, or the warmth that spread throughout her body that was not caused by the heat of the day.
They made their way to the bedroom to begin to rebuild their life together, as lovers and as a family.

I love this. If only it had really happened this way!
Hey, don’t stop there…this was great and has lots of potential for more chapters. Please consider continuing the story.

Loved it. Would like to see you continue. PPS.
This was SO much better then the real show. Bette was SO wishy washy it totally killed me on the show. IC just wanted Matlin to have a HUGE break-up scene that lasted about six episodes to submit for awards but it screwed the storyline over to get there. This was more like the B/T I fell in love with here..
Hope you decide to continue with this, I loved it:) PPS
This Bette had more gumption and cujones than the Bette from the show. More please.
Hope you will continue this This is one of the If only. thanks
I really liked this story. That was perfect, Bette biting the bullet and telling Jodi right away, how it should have been.
Very well done! I would love to see them “rebuilding” their relationship!
cool story, hoope their is another chapter coming soon.
I love your version much better. Less drama then ic the drama queen threw at us, and of course much better in the Tibette side of the ledger.
Great post and would love to see you continue.
Great start, please continue. This chapter is an “if only” sort of thing. Wish it had gone that way on the show.
that was sweet and Bette got decisive for a change!!!
I have to agree with the comments posted so far – I would like to see a continuation of your story. This is the way it should have played out on the show. “I love you but I don’t want to tell Jodi yet” just didn’t fly with me. Thanks for posting!
I agree that Bette should have told Jodi sooner but then we wouldn’t have enough drama on the bike ride!!! LOL!
this was well done now please do justice to ep.510…luv ur writting
very nice keep going… this is how it should have been! :)
i loved the quick break-up…please continue
Now why didn’t it happen that way. At least Bette would have told Jodi instead of her finding out sitting around a campfire with everyone there. I think a bit more is needed. You know their night together, the morning with Angie.
This was great for your first post, and I hope to see you continue this story. I’d like to see where you take B&T now that Jodi is out of the picture. Please consider continuing on with this soon!
I love that Bette made a clean break after her and Tina talked. And Tina arriving at Bette’s house to give her the family night she had wanted was the perfect ending.
