But before their reunion could progress, Bette needed to talk to Jodi, and end their relationship, so she could truly have her family back.

"Babe, tell me what you are thinking," Tina said softly, silently hoping Bette was not reconstructing the walls that she built so easily when faced with such an emotional day like today.

Bette turned to Tina and smiled.  Tina saw that the smile didn’t reach her eyes.  "It has just been an intense day.  Like I said before, Jodi knows that something is going on, and…"

"Babe, it’s going to be okay," Tina said trying to offer assurances not only to Bette but to herself as well.  There was so much at stake this time, and they needed to do this for the right reasons.  "I’m willing to wait for you…for us, to be the family that we originally planned."

"I don’t know if I can do this, T…" Bette paused to collect her thoughts.

"What?  I thought you wanted us to be a family again? I thought you wanted to be with me."  Tina felt tears that she so desperately didn’t want to come start to form. She dropped Bette’s hand and started to pull away when she felt Bette take her hand and put it in her lap.

"T.  Let me finish. Please.  I love you.  I love you and I love Angie more than anything.  I know I said I wanted to wait until after the bike ride.  But, I don’t know how I am going to wait for us to be a family until then.  I want you and Angie to come home right now.  I want to hold you all night and never let you go."

Tina tried to hide the smirk that she could feel forming, replacing the tears that were threatening just moments ago, as Bette placed small kisses on the back of her hand.  .  "Bette, it will happen.  I’m not going anywhere.  I love you – so much it scares me.  But, we’re going to be okay.  This is a lot of change for all of us – you, me and Angie.  This is going to take some time.  And, I know that it going to be worth it."

As she finished speaking, they arrived at Tina’s apartment, and both exited the car.  "Do you want to come say goodnight to Angie?  I’m sure she would love to see you."

    1. This was SO much better then the real show. Bette was SO wishy washy it totally killed me on the show. IC just wanted Matlin to have a HUGE break-up scene that lasted about six episodes to submit for awards but it screwed the storyline over to get there. This was more like the B/T I fell in love with here..

    2. I have to agree with the comments posted so far – I would like to see a continuation of your story. This is the way it should have played out on the show. “I love you but I don’t want to tell Jodi yet” just didn’t fly with me. Thanks for posting!

    3. Now why didn’t it happen that way. At least Bette would have told Jodi instead of her finding out sitting around a campfire with everyone there. I think a bit more is needed. You know their night together, the morning with Angie.

    4. This was great for your first post, and I hope to see you continue this story. I’d like to see where you take B&T now that Jodi is out of the picture. Please consider continuing on with this soon!

    5. I love that Bette made a clean break after her and Tina talked. And Tina arriving at Bette’s house to give her the family night she had wanted was the perfect ending.
