    Rebuilding Chapter 4

“She seems so assured, Kit.  Why is this so easy for her and not me?”

“I don’t think that it is easy for her.  I think that she’s put her faith in you, and she’s waiting for you to do the same.”

“We have so much to talk about, Kit.”

“Yeah, you, do, but it’s going to be okay.  Just take it slow.”

Bette smiled as a blush crept over her face as she remembered last night.

“Bette – you are taking this slowly.”

“Tina is my weakness, Kit.  You know that.”

“Then just be careful.  Okay?  I’m here to talk, if you need me.  C’mon.  I want to go see my niece.”

Kit rose from behind her desk, and wrapped her sister in a big hug and whispered to her.  “It’s going to work out.  It’s you and Tina.  You were so right together for so long.  And, I can see that again, only better.  You have to be willing to take that chance though.  And, I’m here to help if you need me.”

    “Thanks Kit.  I love you.”

“I love you, too.  Now let me go see my niece.”

Tina sat at the table cutting up pancakes for Angelica, while casting glances towards Kit’s office, anxious about the conversation between  Bette and Kit.

Alice and Shane were lost in conversation catching up on the recent gossip.  She watched as Bette and Kit emerged from her office chatting.  She made eye contact with Bette, and saw the Porter smile light up her entire face.  Whatever Kit had told her, had given Bette the reassurance that she needed.  They would talk later, but for now, everything was okay.

“Mama!  Pancakes!”  Angie squealed as she saw Bette and Kit approach the table.

“Yep.  I see you are eating your pancakes, Boo.”  Bette placed a kiss on top of Angie’s head and made her way to the vacant seat beside Tina and sat down.  She placed her hand on Tina’s thigh and gently squeezed it.

“Hey Porter, is Jodi going to be joining us?  I needed to ask her if she was going to do something for her aunt on the ride.”

“Ah, well, Alice, you’ll probably have to call and ask her that question.  I don’t think she will be joining us for breakfast this morning, or going on the ride for that matter.”

    1. Somehow I missed chapter 3 but now I have caught up. I like your Kit better than the way they had Kit portrayed in the show. She was not too pleased with Bette and Tina hooking back up again in the show. I believe that Bette is willing to take that leap of faith now.

    2. Those uncertainties seem to be going, for the moment anyway. Glad Bette’s taking the leap of faith. I hope their talk puts the rest of the fears to rest. Thanks for the chapter, QL.

    3. Bette is going to take Kit’s advice and put her faith in Tina right? I love how crazy Alice is but Tasha may have to keep her busy so Bette and Tina don’t strangle her. Looking forward to reading more!
