After they arrived at the Planet, Bette removed Angie from her car seat, and held her in her arms. As they walked toward the entrance, Tina rested her hand on the small of Bette’s back. Bette and Tina exchanged glances as Angelica babbled about pancakes and seeing her Auntie Kit.
As they walked through the door, Tina felt the tension rise in the muscles in Bette’s back. They scanned the restaurant, and saw Alice and Shane seated at a table in the corner.
“Bette, it’s going to be okay. It’s just our family. You know that they just want what is best for us. You and I know that this is what is best for us.”
“I know. Why don’t you take Angie and get her settled with Alice and Shane? I need to find Kit, and I’ll get drinks and order breakfast, too, okay?”
“Sure thing. Order the fruit plate for me, okay?”
Bette put Angie on the ground, who began to toddle over to Shane and Alice. Tina took Bette’s hand and gently squeezed it. Bette smiled at Tina and walked towards Kit’s office as she released Tina’s hand.
Tina turned toward the direction of Alice and Shane and sighed. “This is going to work. I won’t let your insecurities sabotage this,” Tina mumbled to herself.
Bette knocked gently on the door frame of Kit’s office.
“Hey, Bette. I was wondering if I was going to see you today.”
“Hi Kit. We got a late start this morning. Are you busy?”
“Nope. Nothin’ that can’t wait. What’s going on? How was your appointment with Dan yesterday?” Kit could see that Bette was struggling with something, and knew that this had something to do with Tina. After their conversation yesterday before their appointment with Dan Foxworthy, Kit knew that something was going on between her sister and Tina. Kit could see the stolen glances lately when they were together. Kit loved Tina like a sister. But if she just wanted Bette back because she was not available, it would destroy Bette. She’d talk to Tina later. Right now, she could see that Bette needed to talk.
Bette’s eyes scanned Kit’s office, looking anywhere but at Kit. “Tina and I have decided that we are going to try to be a family again. We are going to work on making a family together for Angelica, and for us.”

Somehow I missed chapter 3 but now I have caught up. I like your Kit better than the way they had Kit portrayed in the show. She was not too pleased with Bette and Tina hooking back up again in the show. I believe that Bette is willing to take that leap of faith now.
Great story QL…I like the direction much better than the one Ilene took…she must have missed a turn somewhere! Very well written!
Great update. Thankfully both Tina and Kit know Bette so well. Jump Bette, Tina will catch you. Lets just hope IC stays on track.
Those uncertainties seem to be going, for the moment anyway. Glad Bette’s taking the leap of faith. I hope their talk puts the rest of the fears to rest. Thanks for the chapter, QL.

Bette is going to take Kit’s advice and put her faith in Tina right? I love how crazy Alice is but Tasha may have to keep her busy so Bette and Tina don’t strangle her. Looking forward to reading more!
