    Ch 16

    Tina was in the back of the ambulance holding onto Bette’s hand and looking really worried.  She wanted so badly to take the pain away.  She looked up at the nurse attending with hundred of questions going through her mind.

    Tina:  Ah….. Miss!  Sorry didn’t catch your name?

    The nurse looked up at her and smiled. 

    Alice, call me Al if you like, and you are Tina I believe?

    Nice to meet you, Tina.

    Tina:  Yes I am, nice to meet you too Al.  Only I ….. I ….What are her chances Al.  I mean if you don’t mind me asking?

    Tina wanted to know so badly as she wasn’t sure or maybe she just wanted to be reassured.

    Alice looked at her and posed.  She doesn’t know what to say, really.  Should she tell her the truth or should she make up any excuse to ignore her.

    Tina:  Please I want to know.  Don’t be afraid of telling me, I can take it.

    Alice:   Well…… ah….. Tina.  Ok here it is but please don’t forget that we are on the way to the hospital and the Drs could give you a better diagnosis if you wish to wait.

    Tina:  I know that, but I want you to tell me first.  Please tell me what do you think?

    Alice could see that Tina started to get a bit agitated and edgy.  So she had to say something to her.

    Alice:   Listen to me Tina, your woman here….

    Tina interrupted Al looking all shy and embarrassed.

    Tina:  She is not my woman.  I found her on my ranch….. she was nearly dead…… she….. she….

    Alice:   Ok, ok lady, I didn’t know that, anyway, what was I saying?  Oh yes.  This woman is not very well.  She is going to need some serious looking after if she is going to make through this.  I can’t tell you exactly if she has some internal injuries.  I am able to stabilize her for now and I must make sure she keeps breathing.  What the Drs will find, is a different matter.

    Tina:  But can’t you tell me what you think?

    Alice scratched the top of her head and fidgeted a bit.  She wasn’t supposed to tell…. But she needed to say something to Tina to calm her down and put her mind at rest till they get to the hospital.  Damn why can’t he drive faster…..?????

    1. Damn, i can’t believe you left us hanging there. I still believe Bette will be okay though, she has to be. And what’s with Candace?, i hope she isn’t someone who will be in between B and T. I laughed out loud at the pic of Betty as a nurse though, that’s just all kinds of wrong. Loved the chap hun, looking forward to the next post.
