Put it up to your ear…what do you hear? Chapter 11
"And now?" Tina asked.
Laughing, Dave’s voice then took on an almost reverent tone. "And, now I am older and wiser. Now, I have had my fill of the temporary sugar rush you get from candy." He hesitated for a moment, before softly adding, "And, now I have Camilla."
Tina could hear the love in Dave’s voice when he said the name. "Camilla?" She asked.
"My wife."
"Oh Dave! Please tell me you are happy." Tina practically begged her ex boyfriend, wanting to rid herself of all the guilt she still carried with her.
"Over the moon Tina. Camilla is…well, she is it for me. That’s why I said everything happens for a reason. Camilla is the reason I had to go through losing you."
Tina had tears in her eyes as she felt her heart lighten, her guilt disappear. "God Dave, I am so happy for you."
"Thanks Tina…me too."
After all that they had shared, and all that they had endured after Tina’s fateful decision, it felt good to both of them that they could share this conversation.
"So…are you going to tell me why you really called?"
It was Tina’s turn to laugh. "You always did know me so well."
"And, I loved every moment of it Tina. So, tell me…what has you calling your ex boyfriend who you haven’t spoken with in five years?"
"I….I…." Now that the conversation was steered towards her, Tina was at a loss. All the questions, all the reasons she had for calling Dave in the first place left her brain. So, she blurted out the only thing remaining.
"I met someone."
Dave was silent for a moment, wondering why after all this time Tina felt the need to tell him she had move on. But then he looked over at the woman who he knew in his heart he was meant to spend his life with…and smiled.
"That’s great Tina! That’s a good thing right?"
"Well….yes…I…mean…"
"I guess your lucky seashell came through for you again." Dave said, interrupting Tina’s mumbling.
"What?" Tina sat up, surprised.
"Well, you were always giving credit for all the good things in your life to that shell of yours, so I was just saying that it sounds like it came through for you again."

That’s good that some wounds have healed over time. And now it’s time for Ms. Tina to make that exchange. This really is a cute story! =)

Hey Sea!! This is really sweet! I am so happy to hear that the wounds had healed. I know how she must have felt. Please continue soon. I hope you feel better. Canadian Thanksgiving in October, huh? Cool!!
Way to go Tina. Make that exchange with Bette and fight for her. Glad to see you back and continuing this story.
So good to see a post from you. : )
AH! SO cute! Sounds like a fair exchange to me: guidance via giggle for a love to end all loves? I think so.
Glad to see you back…now when she picked up that phone, you know I was thinking she was calling Bette. If she has to call old ghosts to get to Bette so be it…just as long as she gets there…maybe some time needed to pass. Please post soon and I hope you feel better.
Glad to see that you’ve posted Sea. You’re a hell of a writer that I’ve missed. Feel better.

Sorry you aren’t feeling well and missed your holiday. so glad to see the update. Go for it Tina, you’ve got the shell no go get Bette.
Yeah Tina go get your woman and tell her about the shell. Ok post soon please, thanks!
Hope your cold is clearing up! Maybe some hot turkey soup? (Do Canadians eat turkey at Thanksgiving???) Even fuzzy-headed your prose is clear as a bell! Thanks!
Hey Sea…. I thought Fuzzy wazzy was a bear??? Fuzzy or not wonderful and can’t wait for your next post. Hope you are feeling better!! Take care!!! thank you
Amazing!!! Surely this exchange is gonna be the start of B&T. Or better say the fire ignition, cause it seems to me that B&T started the day Tiny Tina found that shell… Bette is gonna be so stunned! … getting her shell back after all these years! And from her T! Can’t wait to read that… Please, please no drama around the exchange, we had enough of that! Please post soon, I simply adore that story! Thanks
Oh Seahurst that was so much better than anything we talked about. Go Girl!!Sorry you missed all the shindig. Get better.
I hope you are feeling better and thanks for the great chapter!
Can’t wait to read what’s next! Thanks.
Oh Sea! So good to see you post again! That was a great chapter. I hope Tina does the exchange in person without any middlemen this time!
Hope you’re feeling better..thanks for giving us this update..and please don’t stay away too long :)
You’re quite the storyteller. I thought this was adorable. Sorry you missed the holiday – hope you’re feeling better soon.
cute
Ok I know this comment is late, but I finally sat down and caught up. This chapter was great. It’s funny how some of us go through life believing in something other than ourselves. True there’s nothing wrong in having, lets say a lucky charm, but when do we let go of that and start believing that we made those good things happen? Tina’s seashell reminds me of a security blanket. At some point in our life’s we have to take responsibility for our actions and right now that’s what Tina is about to do. Hopefully. So go get your woman Tina. Please Post Soon.
I can’t wait to read the look on Bette’s face when she gets reunited with the shell… OMG sea… what a wonderfull story!
