    Chapter 7

    Bette winked “You’ll see when we get there” Quickly changing the subject as she wanted their final destination to be a surprise she added “I missed you yesterday…..I was hoping you would call” Bette glanced to her right and caught Tina’s stunned expression “What….”

    “Nothing….I just thought you could do with a breather…..I’ve been a little full on lately” A half truth wasn’t a lie Tina thoughtfully reasoned.

    Bette took her eyes off the road for a second and smiled “Yes you have…..but just between you and me I’ve kinda enjoyed the attention” She confessed with a hint of a giggle.

    “You have?” Tina questioned suspiciously

    Bette again winked as way of her response.

    What the fuck has got into her Tina thought but wary of pushing the wrong buttons a little diplomacy was required “Not that I’m complaining but you seem…” Tina struggled to find the correct term for Bette’s personality transplant she hadn’t seen Bette this relaxed well in….never….”You seem a little…… different”

    “I feel a little different” Bette faced Tina just long enough for her bewildered passenger to catch her raised eyebrows.

    Tina chuckled despite her confusion, she knew Bette knew she usually would have responded with “Lucky different or “Time to feel a little Tina” resisting the urge she continued on her endeavour “Bette what’s got into you today”

    “Is that an offer” Bette said unrelenting in her teasing

    “Bette”

    “Oh the lady doesn’t like when the tables are turned huh”

    Tina had to laugh “Oh the lady likes….the lady is just confused as hell…but not one to look a gift horse in the mouth I’ll drop it” The latter part of Tina’s words where drowned out by Bette’s obvious amusement “What’s so funny?”

    Not wanting to disclose what had her tickled Bette choose to throw Tina a bone “I’m happy….The sun is shining the sky is blue and I get to spend the day with the wonder that is you….” She inwardly cringed and kept her eyes on the road ahead grateful that her colouring masked her embarrassment.

    “Oh god” Tina managed to say through her laughter

    “I know….I know that was bad” Bette conceded her embarrassment now in plain sight.

    6. Oh yeah…I like the end to this chapter! So…all good things come to an end and apparently all great things come to an end sooner. I knew it had to happen, but I kept hoping not yet. Well it’s been a helluva ride Skimmy, so I’m expecting one helluvan ending! PPS!

    7. I love it. Bette’s biggest fear was that she would be found to be unlovable if Tina knew what she had done. As soon as she discovered that Tina still loved her it freed her. These two have got to stay together! Thanks for the update.
