‘The next player is…..Abbey Benton.’
More applause could be heard.
‘Well Done Abbey. Your role is centre. You showed how well you were at moving the ball around. You’re also a fast mover, which means you can be down the other side of the court in a heart beat. Well Done.’
Tina was getting nervous.
*Only 2 places left. I cant take it* Tina thought.
Kate also seemed anxious. She wanted to Tina to make the team even more than herself.
Bette continued. ‘Second to last, I have chosen…..Dana Fairbanks.’
The applause was even louder then before.
‘You Dana, have shown me some great Basketball over the last 2 weeks. I have given you the role of ‘Shooting Guard’. You have great aim and have proved to be an excellent long range shooter. That’s the ‘Shooting Guards’ strongest talent. Also you’re fast, you dribble well and move yourself into space with ease. Good going girl.’ Bette finished.
A loud round of applause erupted again.
‘Now for our final player.’ Bette started. ‘Over the last 2 weeks I have been exceptionally pleased with the effort this young lady has put into the practice. She has excelled in all area’s of defence and shooting. Her role is ‘Point Guard’. The point guard of the team is more or less the leader on the court. They control the tempo and call out plays. The heart of the team, if you will.’ Bette smiled.
Tina wasn’t sure what to expect. There were still 21 of them that hadn’t been assigned a place in the team. Scanning their faces she noted that from what she had observed over the last 2 weeks, they were all pretty good. Her eye’s landed on Kate.
‘Good luck’ Kate mouthed to her.
*I need it* Tina thought. *So many good players with only 1 spot left*
She looked back at Bette, only catching the end of her sentence.
‘…..dribbling skills. Bette said. ‘As well as the role of Point Guard, this young lady will also be the captain.
Bette looked at everyone. All equally begging to hear who it was. She couldn’t help but inwardly giggle at their faces.
‘The lady I have chosen for this multi task role is……
Just then the gym doors came crashing open and a student popped her head in.

I am glad that Kate was able to trust Tina enough to tell her about herself. I guess Bette has already figured it out that Kate is interested in the girl that has set Bette’s heart a fluttering. Looking forward to the next chapter.
If you keep this story according to plan, Bette and Tina will end up together. I’m thinking though that Tina needs to give Kate a hint that she doesn’t stand a chance, without revealing who and why she’s there. We still need more closeness for B&T.

Oh boy, do I have a problem with this story…! You give us long chapters, and yet, never long enough! *pout* I love this… But I feel so disappointed everytime I reach the end! But hey, it’s great, and i’m so grateful that you find enough time to give us these long chapters. No problem here, just my way of conveying how much I like this story. Progress here, with the Miss Porter being gay revelation… But still wondering how in hell there could be a bit of action before the end… Cause there will be, right? Pleaaase? Hey, hope you’re planning on Coach Porter joining the little team party, that would be fun! You know, surprise guest… And then, She and Tina would get to know each other more… “informally”, even through only talking and… yes, lots of flirting!… Anyway, you’re the boss! Damn that girl was right, it was like being at the “American Idol” finale, with the freakin’ commercial break and all!… LOL! Thanks!
Oh Boi, Oh Boi, Oh BoiIf I had a Bette Porter as my P.E teach, Jeeez you!, that is one class, if I could go back in time, which I would turn up either early, on time, and not forget my kit for, as well as participate in all activity. My P.E teacher was crusty lol!
Ohh man. Kate better keep her paws off of Tina. Something about her desperation rubs me the wrong way. Nice reveal to Tina that Bette is gay.. and that Bette is getting jealous. I’m kind of hoping Bette finds out the secret before everyone else, therefore, there can be something between them without it being all totally sketchy. PPS.

Idol finale is about right. I’ve never liked Ryan Seacrest either. lol Ewwww@KaTina. Tina wouldn’t go there anyway unless she felt like possibly going to jail. xD

Nice chapter kelloggs. Glad Tina made team captain. Bette should have been fair with Kate’s position though…she may be jealous of Kate, but she shouldn’t let it affect her professional opinion of her. If I were Tina, I would be sooo tempted to tell Bette the truth.Love your story and your writing!
*bounces up and down* I have been away all weekend and I was so happy when I realised you’d updated!! I love it. It is so great. And now that Tina knows Bette is gay, she should be more flirty-er. :) Or totally make her even more jealous, with Kate.
