‘Is that it?’ Tina asked.
Kate’s eyebrows furrowed. ’What do you mean, Is that it?’ Kate retorted.
‘I’m sorry, its just. I didn’t know what to expect. I thought you were going to tell me something bad.’
Kate relaxed a little.
‘You mean, you don’t mind?’
Tina looked at her in shock. ’Mind? Why would I mind? Of course I don’t. We cant help who we fall in love with. I’m honoured that you told me.’
‘You’re the only person I’ve ever told.’ Kate admitted. ‘ People have speculated, but I’ve always kinda shrugged it off.’
‘Well, if I’m the only person you’ve ever told, then I feel even more honoured.’ Tina smiled.
‘Thanks. You’ve no idea how happy that makes me feel. Thanks for being so great about it.’
‘You’re welcome.’
Tina thought about telling Kate she too was gay, but decided to keep it to herself.
‘I actually thought about telling Miss Porter. I figured she’d understand what I was going through.’ Kate continued.
Tina was confused. Was that just because she was a gym teacher?
‘Why would you think that? Tina asked.
‘Well, I guess because she’s gay. She knows the turmoil I’m going through.’
Tina’s thoughts went into overdrive. Bette was gay. Her heart was thumping.
‘Miss Porter’s gay? I didn’t realise…’ Tina said.
*Yea, I had just wished she was* Tina thought
‘Oh, yea. She’s totally open about it. All the kids love her for it. They’re really cool about it.’ Kate went on.
Tina was only half listening. Her head was still coming to terms with Bette really being into woman.
*You didn’t stand a chance before and you still don’t* she reminded herself.
‘That’s good’ Tina replied to Kate’s last statement.
‘Yea, she’s so cool. I really admire her. And her body….’ she pursed her lips and wolf whistled. Letting out a laugh afterwards.
Tina laughed along. Boy, did she know Bette had a hot body. That’s all she thought about every night since she’d met her.

Driving home that night, Tina thought about the nights events. Kate had revealed something so special to her. She knew how nervous she had been. Tina remembered how nerve racking it had been when she came out. Everyone had taken it well though. Her parents had been up set for a while. What with Shane having already admitted she was gay, her parents had hoped Tina would be the one to deliver them some grand children.
Tina had thought about seriously telling Kate her true identity. She felt she could trust her, but then visions of Roger Greyson popped into her head saying ‘You blew your damn cover. All this has been wasted. You’re fired!’
She couldn’t let that happen.
Continuing her drive, Tina’s final thoughts were of Bette. Of maybe a little more than friendship at the end of all this.
*She’ll want nothing to do with me when she finds out*
*No, that wont happen* she told herself. *She’s picked me to be the heart of her team. There has to be a reason for that*
She smiled, feeling confident that somewhere, at the end of the tunnel, there would be a shimmer of hope.

I am glad that Kate was able to trust Tina enough to tell her about herself. I guess Bette has already figured it out that Kate is interested in the girl that has set Bette’s heart a fluttering. Looking forward to the next chapter.
If you keep this story according to plan, Bette and Tina will end up together. I’m thinking though that Tina needs to give Kate a hint that she doesn’t stand a chance, without revealing who and why she’s there. We still need more closeness for B&T.

Oh boy, do I have a problem with this story…! You give us long chapters, and yet, never long enough! *pout* I love this… But I feel so disappointed everytime I reach the end! But hey, it’s great, and i’m so grateful that you find enough time to give us these long chapters. No problem here, just my way of conveying how much I like this story. Progress here, with the Miss Porter being gay revelation… But still wondering how in hell there could be a bit of action before the end… Cause there will be, right? Pleaaase? Hey, hope you’re planning on Coach Porter joining the little team party, that would be fun! You know, surprise guest… And then, She and Tina would get to know each other more… “informally”, even through only talking and… yes, lots of flirting!… Anyway, you’re the boss! Damn that girl was right, it was like being at the “American Idol” finale, with the freakin’ commercial break and all!… LOL! Thanks!
Oh Boi, Oh Boi, Oh BoiIf I had a Bette Porter as my P.E teach, Jeeez you!, that is one class, if I could go back in time, which I would turn up either early, on time, and not forget my kit for, as well as participate in all activity. My P.E teacher was crusty lol!
Ohh man. Kate better keep her paws off of Tina. Something about her desperation rubs me the wrong way. Nice reveal to Tina that Bette is gay.. and that Bette is getting jealous. I’m kind of hoping Bette finds out the secret before everyone else, therefore, there can be something between them without it being all totally sketchy. PPS.

Idol finale is about right. I’ve never liked Ryan Seacrest either. lol Ewwww@KaTina. Tina wouldn’t go there anyway unless she felt like possibly going to jail. xD

Nice chapter kelloggs. Glad Tina made team captain. Bette should have been fair with Kate’s position though…she may be jealous of Kate, but she shouldn’t let it affect her professional opinion of her. If I were Tina, I would be sooo tempted to tell Bette the truth.Love your story and your writing!
*bounces up and down* I have been away all weekend and I was so happy when I realised you’d updated!! I love it. It is so great. And now that Tina knows Bette is gay, she should be more flirty-er. :) Or totally make her even more jealous, with Kate.
