My first time…a Sci-Fi Story Chapter 13 – THE THINGS THAT OUR PARENTS NEVER TOLD US

Her sleep soon became deep, her slow delta brain’s waves, increased from 15 to 25 % of her sleep cycle, and her alpha waves, in her REM stage, reached the 50%, in a similar way when she was on the ship at the RZ. In her dreams, Louise’s brain started working fast and with scientific logic: if she had died with her wife Kristen, who would have taken care and raise Tina and Bette? If the two girls had known each other since childhood would have they been in love one of the other? If she had not shown her intention to marry and have a child, would Tina and Bette have been born? if her family had survived or if she had died with them during the great earthquake, would she have met Maxine and Kristen?
Every event was connected with the other one, and she was in the middle of everything, feeling guilty for the loss of her “old” loved ones, but what about the birth and future of her “new” ones, what about her role in the New Caltech community, what about so many young students, many of them orphans or in distress, who depend emotionally on her; what about of the ones who depend economically on her funding and projects, if she weren’t there, if things would be different, who would take her place? and if someone did, how would have been. Yes everybody has a mission to accomplish, small or big, there is no way to go back.
It is 4:00 am in the morning and Louise feels someone is shaking her arm.
Sharon: “Louise…, honey…, wake up…”
Louise: “wha…what..?”
Sharon: “you fell asleep on your desk…”
Louise remembered the last night and her dreams and she immediately stood up
Louise: “I have to go to ‘the room’…”
Sharon: “where…?”
Louise: “just give me 30 minutes and I will be back in our bedroom”
Sharon: “okay, but don’t take longer”
Louise went to the second floor and opened the door of the room that always was sealed, the door which no one knew what was behind, the room that only she with Kristen and Maxine have utilized before, after closing the door, she uncover the instruments that they used to simulate the magnetic fields in the RZ and other places where they were seen; this day she feels free, reborn, light, clean, confident, no guilt, no regrets now what she needs is the effect of the magnetic fields.

And Melvin a asexual man, in this case you can’t speak; like father and daughter. Bette is contrary to her father, a very sexual woman.

Yes, I better would say respect Bette like mother like daughter; she inherited all her sexual drive, protectiveness, and intelligence from Maxine; her shyness, her ability to ‘change’ and being different from Melvin. Louise has to address and fix her relationship with Tina for the first and last time, otherwise, they would drive apart. Thanks so much for reading and commenting, I hope to update soon.

You may be right, about emotions and feelings but I was talking about emotions = feelings + sensations, indeed I was referring to the fact that hormones are mysterious sets of chemicals that could be released sometimes for effect of emotions or feelings or sensations, for example, if you are afraid of something, your body starts releasing hormones, if you are happy, your body releases other types of hormones, sometimes strong emotions force you to release many different hormones and in very different quantities; the role of hormones is to generate responses to face the danger, pleasure or whatever situation you are living. Now, the production of hormones is linked to the activity of enzymes that are certain type of proteins that acts as factories of hormones, and if the last ones are not enough, the ‘stress’ of the situation (emotion, feeling or sensation), forces the productions of more enzymes or through alternative mechanisms, producing same or different proteins to supply the adequate amount of hormones. The production of proteins is codified in DNA, and it is the RNA the one in charge to execute the ‘order’ coming from the DNA. It is known that we have ‘parts’ in our DNA that have not codification (or it is unknown) for genes, what I am assuming here (and that is part of the fantasy) is that those unknown regions in our DNA, have genes that usually don’t express (they don’t form proteins, or don’t have apparent function), they have existed since a long time ago as ‘mutations’ (indeed hidden mutations); I also assume that all our ‘inner demons’ are blocking emotions, feelings, and sensations, then they are blocking the production of certain hormones and then blocking any alternative mechanism of production of enzymes, so the hidden genes are repressed. So, this is why Louise has to ‘release’, to face her demons (to free her tormented soul) to be able to activate those hidden genes and then after exposing herself to the magnetic fields, she could achieve the ‘change’. About to tell Tina and Bette the truth, this is something Louise has been thinking since chapter 1, she wanted the two girls to be friends in order to slowly talk to them about their mothers, but things didn’t happen as she expected, the two girls, instead, fell in love. Louise has to fix things with Tina, and also with Bette.
