    Meet Me In Montauk; #03

    ◊◊◊

I stormed into the house, finding Tash sitting in front of the television in her running attire.

“Hey baby,” she greeted, looking up at me, “How was your day?”

I glared at her, ready to explode, “How was my day?” I repeated, “Where on earth have you been? Did you get my messages?”

She squinted slightly, “Messages? I just got back from the gym, babe, I left my phone at home. Why? Was there something important?”

I screamed, “I wanted you to help me pay the utility bills because I was stuck at the hotel, cleaning up other people’s messes! Now what the heck are we going to do! Do you realize that there is a hundred dollar penalty because of the late payment?”

“I’m sorry,” she said, standing up and reaching out for me, “Baby, I’m sorry,” she repeated, “I didn’t know…I…”

I moved my arms away from her, “Don’t…” I told her, “Don’t touch me…” I walked away, still reeling in my frustrations.

“Helena,” she called out, following me behind, “You’re overreacting. Please calm down, we can sort this out.”

“One hundred dollars, Tash, that’s not a small sum. I’m already beating myself up for forgetting about the payment and doing it last minute. All I needed was some help from you today, and you weren’t there. You were at the gym. Yes, very important things to do, I’m sure.”

I ran into our bedroom and slammed the door shut as I curled up on our bed.

The last thing I wanted was to talk to her.

A few minutes later, I heard her knock lightly on the door, “Babe?” she said quietly from outside, “I’m sorry, but I’ve already called the utilities company and they said that they would forgo the penalty this time around. Babe?”

She opened the door slowly and walked in, sitting at the corner of our bed, “Look,” she whispered, “I’m really really sorry.”

I looked at her, her eyes filled with regret and sincerity. I could tell she was sorry. Like always, I could never stay mad at her; she never fought back with me. She moved closer, putting her arm around my waist, leaning over to kiss me on my forehead.

“I just need someone to depend on sometimes,” I told her, “I can’t always do everything on my own. I can’t. I’m not asking you to be there for me all the time, but there are just some times that I need you to be there to help me out…”

“I know,” she said, “And I’m sorry I haven’t been there for you. I know you’re having a tough week and I should have been more understanding.”

“It’s not that…” I said, but she cut me off.

“I know, I will answer my phone every time you call in the future alright? I’m really sorry, babe. Forgive me.”

I let her hold me as I felt my anger subside.

I didn’t know what troubled me more, the fact that we never actually had a real argument before, or that she was always the giving party when we had a disagreement.

As I lay in her embrace, I started to feel guilty for taking that for granted.

    1. Hello Beautiful Dragonfly… hmmmmmm do I sense a fated meeting that just slips through the cracks… I think so… two strangers passing by int he night… both in the same place… both looking for the other and yet it wasn’t meant to be at this time… cuzzie I was thinking of doing a story inspired by the movie Sliding Doors… have you seen it… what do you think… LOL… love ya lots, JC (Latin Nephew to those Salsa Angels and your ever proud cuzzie)

    2. I see you lurking there cuzzie… Refresh… go to sleep… you are brilliant and when you wake up you will see just how much… love ya and well go to bed… JC

    3. Eunichick, I wouldn’t say predictable!! I love your stories as well as Belena, its just that I have a soft spot in my heart for Tasha and if she must get kicked to the curb, I don’t want her to get hurt to bad. Anyway, great chapter!!PPS

    4. Hey E another great chapter. Tasha is actuAlly a. Dry. All woman and well Helena is not she is too passionate. I actually am liking Tash on this story and it was awesome for Tina to get a big break, but that means away time from Bette and that is not a good sign. Anyway, loved it!

    5. They are gonna meet in Singapore, they are gonna meet in Singapore…it’s getting going! I definitely think Tash seems like a child and Helena the parent in this, and Tash’s I’m sorrys evntually aren’t going to be enough. I would want a partner who is an adult and takes responsibility also. I don’t care what happens to Tina, she can go off and make her movies, I just want Bette and Helena to get together. NOW, I must say that a rider for a Chihuahua must be very tiny indeed. I don’t know where they would find a saddle for him, but where there is a will, there is a way. JUSTIN..I have seen Sliding Doors several times, or what I refer to as smart, sort of, Gwyneth and lobotomized Gwyneth..can I be of any help?

    6. something im looking forward to how weird is this i felt like crap earlier but am feeling better now its time for bed on my side of the world. So Bette and Helena will meet oh yes *better than a photograph*, so Tash and Helena never really have an arguement that cant be a healthy relationship arguing makes your relationship stronger. what has Bette got planned for Tina.Always reading, and in awe of your abilities. Caramel

    7. ummm hmmmmm, compulsory attendance eh…dude I can’t wait for the update…you know I understand what H is saying, sometimes you want a sparring partner…but easy forgiveness and sincerity is pretty damn good too!!! PPS

    8. Hmmm….it is definitely getting interesting. As much as I love Belena…I know that “entertaining attractions” can cause so much pain in relationships…and how easy it is to get pulled by curiosity…However, I know this connection is feeling inevitable for our girls…but I don’t suspect it will be pretty. Please, please give Tasha some backbone and character…and if at all possible, at least connect her with some one smart, funny and pretty… :) Ok, now that I’m done with my wish list, feel free to continue weaving your tale as planned… :) PPS!

    9. I like Tasha. She doesn’t seem like a child. Helena was hysterical. WTF Tasha fixed the problem with a simple phone call…..”I didn’t know what troubled me more, the fact that we never actually had a real argument before, or that she was always the giving party when we had a disagreement.” THis sounds like a keeper to me. I love Belena but I don’t want to see nice partners hurt. DONT DO IT!!!! I can’t believe I’m saying that…
