    Meet Me In Montauk; #02

“I just got in,” I replied as she wrapped her arms around me, pulling me beside her.

    I laughed, “Babe…I haven’t gotten a chance to shower yet! I’m smelly!”

She moved my hair aside and kissed the back of my neck, gently sniffing around my ear playfully, “Nope,” she said, “You still smell lovely to me.”

“Did you take in the laundry from outside? It rained just now.”

“Urg, damnit, no baby, I didn’t,” Tash replied, suddenly sitting up.

I turned to look at her, slightly annoyed, “Babe…”

“I know, I know,” she said, “I’m sorry, I completely passed out when I got home, I didn’t even know it rained.”

I got up and walked downstairs.

“Where are you going?” she called out.

“I need to do the damn laundry again,” I said as I walked outside into the cold night air to bring in the damp clothes.

My back was aching from being at work the entire day; I was sleepy and tired knowing I had an early shift tomorrow. The last thing I wanted to do again was the laundry. As much as I wanted to be understanding, I couldn’t help but feel so annoyed that Tash couldn’t even bring the laundry in for me when she got home.

Why did I always have to take that responsibility? I was working too!

I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn’t realize that she had followed me outside. She wrapped her arms around me from behind, taking me completely by surprise. She kissed my head, “I’m sorry, baby, I’m sorry. I know I should have brought them in when I got home.”

I didn’t say anything as I threw a pillow case into the basket I had next to me.

“I’m sorry, let me do the laundry ok?” she offered, taking the blouse I had just taken down from my hands and gently pushing me into the house, “I know you must be tired.”

I turned to look at her, my lips pursed, “You’re tired too,” I said.

“Yea,” she replied, walking towards me and holding me in her arms, “But I had a nap and you just got home. Go have a shower alright? It’s cold out here, ok?”

I sighed, finding it hard to stay mad at Tash, “Ok.”

“Go, go,” she said with a grin, giving me a light pat on my backside as I walked into the house.

I threw her a grateful smile as I walked back inside.

I always found it hard to stay mad at her.

She had to be the sweetest soul in the world. She seemed to always know the right things to say to make me smile and easy my quick temper.

But sometimes, I couldn’t help but wonder about this not being able to stay mad at her.

Sometimes it just felt as if our relationship was too good to be true.

    2. I’m liking this and this is how a friendly association can get you into troble. Bette sees Helena’s pic and compliment her on how lovely she is….now Helena wants a pic of Bette so she can put name to face and no doubt she will like what she sees. Will they ever sees one another in person or will this be one of those cyber infatuation? Either way I’m sure it will be good. pps

    3. Woooooo hoooooo I have been waiting all day for these you know… two hours is a long time to wait for your masterpieces and before you say it yeah yeah yeah ‘ice cream’ I know… LOL… I love how you have created such distinct personalities for all of these characters… and that banter between Bette and Lara is perfect… all is not well in paradise for both these couples as you can sense underlying tensions… you keep kicking my ass all over the place cuz… love ya, JC (Latin Nephew to those salsa Angels and your proud loving cuzzie)

    4. E this story is quite interesting, and would have never thought of having Tasha and Helena as a couple. This kinda reminds me about that movie of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan think it was called you got mail, not sure,,hehehe. But I am enjoying reading it

    5. Wow…1st again! I’m definitely liking this…but because of the heat that is Belena…I’m afraid the always kind and lovely Tasha is gonna be curb city again…sigh. The good thing is that I love your writing and the stories you tell…so don’t make it hurt too much! lol! PPS
