Masked Feelings CH 97 To Shreds…literally
He was only too happy to keep the half of the money that she never collected. David knew full well that this woman was trouble and he had to keep his guard up in case she returned. She probably didn’t need the money all that badly from what he could see from her luxurious type of lifestyle. Anyone that had the things that she could afford, either came from money, had a generous benefactor or was one hell of a thief.
Dana would have to learn to live without her newly acquired trainer. It was probably for the best, especially since she could destroy his plan. Alice and Dana needed to be close as ever. There was some underlying tension that wasn’t easily seen by others, but it was a part of the two. Hopefully, they would be happily joined together so they’d be painfully ripped apart when it really matter. At any rate, there would be a lot of suffering, especially for Alice. It’s what Lara would’ve wanted….
It had been weeks since Kristen’s hospitalization and there was no change in her condition. The FBI was strongly under the belief that she was dead, because she hadn’t checked in since that day she took on this new mission of taking down the Gambino family. Her sister was scared to death that she was in grave danger, but refused to believe that she was dead. Derek was still very upset with his wife for putting her life and family at stake. He knew that Kristen was a strong woman but not in the physical and mental state she was in before she left. It was hard to figure what had happened to her.
Derek had already told the girls that their mom had a very important job that was going to keep her away for a little while, but how was he to prepare them for her possibly never coming back? Holly had been taking on the brunt of the responsibility of the girls, while Derek had been making all these business trips. She wondered why he was always going when his daughters needed him the most. The worst part was that she’d hardly ever gotten a hold of him when she did call. She could see that he wasn’t dealing with his pain and doing what he could to avoid it.
