Masked Feelings CH 97 To Shreds…literally

This was hopefully his last trip to the hospital. David’s W-2 had been sitting in his boss’s office for awhile now. It had been sent back, due to his change of address. Normally, he would give a new address, but he wanted to remain missing to anyone who might be looking for him. David really couldn’t afford coming face to face with his boss. He was likely to ask too many questions, because he was sure that the authorities had paid him a visit.

His plan was to sneak into Don’s office when he wasn’t there. He could easily pick the lock and had done it before. There really wasn’t a lock that David couldn’t pick or a security system that couldn’t be tampered with. He just hoped that there wasn’t going to be anyone there that would recognize him, not that he really looked the same as he had. David had changed his looks since leaving his job.

The hallway was normally well lit but since the cut backs on everything, only every other florescent light was on in that part of the building. It definitely made it easier to move through that end of the hall undetected. Picking the lock was an effortless and finding his possessions was so damn easy. Everything that he hadn’t taken with him was placed in a cardboard box on the floor next to his boss’s desk.

Nothing in the box was worth saving, but he’d take it all with him regardless. His last paycheck and W-2 weren’t in there, but instead were sitting in his outgoing box. He grabbed his possessions and walked out the door. David had to pride himself for resisting on not exacting some kind of revenge. It was apparent that his boss was getting a break this time, though he knew it wouldn’t take much to change his mind.

And speaking of getting a break….

David hadn’t gotten a report from Diana in a very long time. She seemed to be missing in action. It’s not like he really trusted her, but to just disappear into thin air was unreal. All her belongings were gone and the house was spotless. It was like she never was there. The woman was a loose cannon, as he knew from the twisted act she pulled with Tony. He did admire her ingenuity when it came to taking out an opponent, but she still had much to learn. David considered himself the master and everyone else was just a novice, with the exception of one person. Lara could always show him a trick or two. Unfortunately, he was alone now.
