Masked Feelings CH 51 A Fire Burns
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________
Dana carried in her groceries and placed them on the kitchen table. She put everything away in the cupboards and the refrigerator. It seemed pointless to her to buy groceries in the first place since she had lost her appetite. The numbness was starting to wear off and replacing that was the knots in her stomach. Dana went back into the main room to sit down on the couch, to try to relax. She looked about the room, taking in all the changes that were made since she was here last. The place that she tried the most to avoid looking at was where her eyes were focused….. the floor. She was conscious for a short amount of time after Lara stabbed her but she knew the area where she laid… dying on the floor. The hardwood floor was covered with an area rug and her curiousity wouldn’t let her rest until she saw what lie beneath. Getting up from where she sat, Dana walked over to the rug and began to slowly roll it up. She didn’t know what she was looking for but that changed instantaneous when she saw the spot on the floor. There was no mistaking what she saw… the stain. It was huge and very dark. It had soaked into the wood grain changing it to a darker shade of brown. It was obvious that a lot of time was spent trying to get the stain out of the floor… the area around the stain was shades lighter but it didn’t fade the dark spot what so ever.
Dana remained sitting on the floor… staring at the spot. It was like reliving the nightmare all over again. She really didn’t remember all that much when she was lying on the floor, near death. What she did remember was Alice kneeling at her side, trying to stop the bleeding. But mostly she was there, looking in her eyes and speaking softly to her. Then the darkness over took her and Alice was gone. It was a lot like she was feeling now…. darkness filled her soul and Alice was just a small speck in the distance, going further away from her. Her stomach ached from looking at the stain… feeling waves of nausea but fighting the urge to get sick. She rolled the rug back into place and went to lay down on the bed in the other room. Now her head was throbbing.

and the plot thickens…
*sigh* You know we read the chapters together, and I ask you questions and you don’t answer me. My love taunts me at a distance, waving clues and dancing merrily about. But alas, I cannot deny her nor can I walk away from her literary genius. Her words a vice grip around the throat of my intrigue, oh great godess of my mental bearings. Now I can only weave words that are senseless in the eyes of others, a delusional basketcase of wonder. I can only postulate what might be and drop warily to my knees awaiting the moment that you will resume this novelistic journey that claves me so….Ok I’m done now, something about your chapters leave me in this stupor that was really all I could muster after the latest installment. Great job love, you’ve captured so much emotion in these pages I’m humming with excitement over the next chapter. I still love Roxy through it all, she’s so wonderfully determined, and blinded by her own lust. This Erika character has piqued my interest I can’t wait to hear more about her and how she relates to Roxy. I hope Dana’s not walking into another trap, something about that comment about trusting strangers rubbed me the wrong way. I’m excited to see how Roxy fucks with Kristen and Derek, maybe that’s why Kirsten is so into helping Dana. Anyway great chapter as always love, I can’t wait for my next snippet maybe you can print it out and I’ll read it in person. (13) I love you baby.
Roxy is so creepy, it really does freak me out a little bit how persistent she is. I just hope she gets deported or somethign.
ohmygod! i want roxy to vaporize!!! she’s too much. why can’t she get the hint to buzz off? she’s so creepy! if only she’d been trapped in dana’s cabin when it burned to the ground. so yeah.. other then roxy being a total freak it was a great update. hoping the next one comes a little sooner. : )
hey hey hey. i know, i know it’s been a while since i last commented. sorry about that, but i enjoyed reading the last three except for one. honestly, i got a little annoyed when u introduced special agent brooks last chapter b/c it was ANOTHER TWIST, another new character. but now i know i was too quick to judge. she seems like a really interesting character. can’t wait to read what happens b/n her, derek and kristin. the guy that followed dana around is taking orders from lara, right? right? ooh, and is he the same mystery guy that is bugging roxy? speaking of roxy, she is one persistent bitch. i’m actually starting to like her. she is just so necessary in creating tension b/n alice and dana, which would make the reunion of danish so much sweeter after roxy is gone. one more thing, please please do not have roxy go all fatal attraction on alice. looking forward to the next chappy. ^ – ^
There seems to be a couple of parallels between Dana’s and Alice’s relationship and Alice’s and Roxy’s relationship. It occurred to me that the dialogue from the first half Roxy’s and Alice’s conversation/confrontation at the supermarket would also fit Dana and Alice (except this time Alice would saying Roxy’s lines). Another parallel would be between Alice sneaking/running away from Roxy and Dana running away from Alice in the last chapter. I don’t hate Roxy, I just don’t see how her action are really any different than Gina at this point. My biggest problem with Roxy—aside from molesting Alice in her sleep and getting Alice drunk so she could molester her, which just crossed a line for me—is that she seldom seems to care about Alice’s feeling. I wonder if Alice is ever going to see how much Roxy has manipulated her, her car breaking down twice so Roxy conveniently (for Roxy anyway) has to give her a ride should give her a clue.I don’t know if Kelly is just stupid, desperate, delusional or all three. Roxy might get her revenge on Kristen or she might just push Kristen off her fence. I also can’t see Alice being happy if she ever finds out Roxy’s role, in trying to mess with her friend’s marriage.Re: Dana and star-grazing-I guess Alice doesn’t really know Dana that well, sad that Alice may never know how much the star gift that meant Dana. I wonder who I should be worried more regarding Dana, her mystery stalker or Sharon after she finds out the cabin burnt down?
I have a feeling this chapter is a turning point in the whole story. This chapter was about closure on the past. And it really feels like next chapter will be a new beginning. I’m not sure if it’s a good or a bad thing… And you still left me wondering…but I don’t have that many question this time. The only thing on my mind is that I so want to know who the mystery man is. Alice’s conversation with Roxy was really awkard. I have to agree with Bojangles, Roxy is freaking me out! Yet another evil masterplan has been plotted out by her. She is totally blinded by her love for Alice…or actually she is blinded by her obession with Alice. She’s just after winning the ultimate prize…and that’s Alice. Although Roxy can influence a lot of circumstances…her obsession is also her weak point. Alice just needs to figure out how Roxy’s obsession can be helpful to her (and Dana) in the end. An I was wondering, Dana was amazed by the kindness of strangers…one true observation in real life…but in the context to this story I can’t help to think that Dana will be unpleasantly suprised by that same kindness of a stranger (aka the mystery man?). I’m looking forward to the next chapter…anytime… ;)
Roxy- not so much a good person. Ha ha. This was an amazing chapter, and honestly, worth the wait! I’m super happy you decided to update! oh no poor kristin! Awesome Job Brteyes! this chap was reallt fused up just great. I agree with bojangles transfer Roxy out to looney land :P I think Roxy needs something rotten to land her way much like what everyone else is going threw BUT i know i know lol im still keeping a somewhat openCLOSED eye when it comes to roxy but like you said it really is easy to hate her so sue me lol Im glad the cabin is gone it really did hold on to a lot of bad memories AND! :jumps up and down: im not sure but i think i know who the mystery man is!but not really knowing is just exciting. I wonder what or who Dana will run into at this town who knows perhaps someone long lost? i cant wait for ur next update! consider me on edge!
roxy really is a piece of work.. i wonder who the guy is following dana?? i can’t wait to see what you have in store for these characters. awesome post!
Woehoe…I was jumping for joy when I saw that you updated! And an amazing update it really is. Who is that man following Dana? Good for him for burning down the evil cabin. I kinda like him yet I don’t know who he is…interesting! Roxy needs to stay the hell away from Kirsten… man she pisses me of, LOL! This chapter was really good brteyes and I hope life gives you a break and you can update again soon. Looking forward to some Danish interaction of any kind so don’t keep me waiting for too long. PS: I’ll stop stalking ClosetDana for updates I don’t want her thinking I’m some wacko like Roxy. See ya.
