Lara – Please…. don’t leave, Dana.
Dana – Trust me when I say you don’t want me here. I’m leaving for both our sakes. I can’t even stand to look at you. Don’t stop me or you will be sorry.
Dana left, slamming the door behind her.
Roxy wasn’t around for the fireworks. She had left early, because Dana needed time alone to talk to Lara. Roxy didn’t want to get in the way or give Dana the excuse not to talk.
Dana was having a bad start and it was about to get worse. Reporters were camped out on her lawn… waiting. They were hounding her for a story…. snapping pictures at every opportunity. Dana kept silent through the barrage of questions, escaping the chaos in her car.
Dana knew she shouldn’t be driving when her emotions were running amok. Damn the consequences…. she would drive if she wanted to. All she could think of was if it wasn’t for that night….. none of the events that had unfolded before her would have ever happened.

If Alice’s hangover wasn’t bad enough, her heart ached even more. Being it was her birthday, she couldn’t help herself but feel nostalgic. No matter what was going on in each other’s lives, Alice and Dana always spent birthdays together. This birthday would not be the same and if she didn’t do something about her situation there would be more to follow.
Alice knew she should have called. Gina would either be worried to death or furious as hell. She opened the door and Gina came running to meet her.
Gina – Alice….. what happened to…
Alice flew in to her arms and started crying. Gina was flustered by Alice’s reaction and her anger dissapated. Holding her tight, she guilded Alice to the couch to sit down.
Gina – What happened to you, sweetie? When I couldn’t find you, I called the police.
Alice’s breakdown continued. Alice was more vulnerable then she realized. This was no act this time. The crying was very real. Suppressing those feelings last night only brought them to the surface now…. threatening to destroy her. Getting closer to Gina was crucial but becoming a victim again wasn’t. Sometimes things are just beyond our control. Sometimes you just need to abandon it all and let go.
