The plan to deal with Gail Guthrie’s attempt to sabotage the tournament was a success. The article ran as special to the Hollywood Reporter on the front page. Beth Kenyon’s phone rang at 9:01 and Gail showed up some thirty minutes later to be met by Helena, Tina, Alice, Dana and the new P.R. team of Allen Weidler and Grant Morgan.
“You were so awesome,” Dana raved as she drove away from Beth’s. “She never had a chance.”
“It wasn’t my plan,” Alice answered as she checked the address Beth had slipped her on the way out. “I just said what we agreed I would.”
“Yeah, but it was how you said it,” Dana grinned and then did her best impression of Al. “So, now that you know Helena was on record as doing everything she could not to hurt your business, I’m sure you’ll want to do everything in your power to make the tournament a success.”
“Okay, first, I do not sound anything like that…”
“Yeah you do.”
“…and second,” Alice ignored Dana, “you know the important part is what Tina and Beth said, right?” Alice tried not to laugh at Dana’s excitement, but, in truth, she shared it. “That even though we gave her a gracious out, we’re prepared to cooperate with Robbie Ansep on a feature story for Vanity Fair if she steps out of line.”
“Oh, and let’s not forget that Beth will make personal calls to all of her top clients to confirm what such an article would say,” Dana added. “It’s a beautiful thing, Al, but I have to tell you I was pretty freaked out.”
“I know you were, but it’s over now, except for whatever Helena and Peggy are cooking up for Winnie.”
“Did Helena tell you anything?”
“Not a word, but I have a feeling that the custody agreement is about to change.” Alice looked at the address again. “Hey baby, do you mind making a stop before we go to Anya’s?”
“I see things went well,” Bette said as Tina closed the door to her office.
“It was amazing,” Tina smiled. “She never saw it coming. I know it shouldn’t make me feel so good, but I can’t help it.”
“I’m glad you came by. I’ll give you the nickel tour.” Bette came around her desk and took Tina in her arms.

Excellent, Helena’s gone to Lara. Take that, Winnie. Everyone’s back on track, which is good. Nice chapter, can’t wait for Dave to come and wreak a bit of havoc.

This story rocks! I absolutely love it. Especially the Danish parts because, well come on. We all know their the best. :) But it really is a great story and you do such a fantastic job writing it. I can’t wait for the next update.

You’re right. I did enjoy this update. You hit me with a whole bunch of Danish, and Buffy reference. “Mr. Pointy.” Haha. Awesome! I love how Dana tried to do an impression of Alice. I can see her doing that, and just picturing it makes me laugh. Alice always seems to be putting girls with clipboards in their places. :) Yeah! They got a doggie. Very cute. I hope he’s not going to be too much of a handful. “The dress,” Al gasped with her last thought. “No marks…” Will Alice be sporting a new scarf? :) I loved the update. I can’t wait to see what’s next.
Yay. I love this story so much. This update was so incredibly sweet with the doggie and the Lara taking Helena back and the house keys. The happy has definitely been achieved. Kudos.

I guess I haven’t commented in ages. But still reading and loving it. I would like to see Peggy dealing with Winnie. That could be a blast. :)The (emotional) bond bewteen all of the couples is getting stronger and stronger (and it differs per couple), nice!And I love Dave already. I think his character will suit the both of them perfectly. :)
great update! and how awesome to see peggy supporting her daughter. i can’t help but love peggy peabody, even when she’s evil. but i think it’s more about the actress that plays her, holland taylor is always wonderful.anyway… great stuff and i can’t wait until the next update!
