"Mrs. Peabody. Bette’s not here. I haven’t heard from her in weeks…"

"Ms. Porter…that’s the reason why I’m calling…your sister hit by a car while crossing the street a few days ago and I reported her missing after I couldn’t get in touch with her.  I am on my way to the hospital to right now to see if this Jane Doe is your sister. I have a police officer who will meet me at the hospital to take a fingerprint of the woman and I will call you as soon as I know if that woman is your sister."

Kit went to the café and asked Tina, Alice, Dana and Shane to her office. Everyone noticed the serious look on Kit’s face and they followed to the office. No one said a word and unconsciously held their breath and waited for what they were about to hear. Kit walked over to Tina and took hold of her hand and squeezed it tight.

"Kit, you’re scaring me right now. If this is about Bette just tell me."

"It is about Bette. There’s been an accident."

"Oh my god."

‘Kit…how…when?" Alice asked.

"I just hung up the phone with Peggy Peabody. She’s on her way to the hospital to see if the Jane Doe lying in ICU is Bette. There’s a police officer there to take fingerprints and Peggy said she will call as soon as possible with the results." Kit held Tina in a tight embrace and both women cried.

"She has to be okay." Tina cried in Kit’s shoulder.

The Planet – An Hour Later

Kit picked up the phone on its first ring.

"The Planet. This is Kit Porter."

"Kit, this is Peggy Peabody. The woman was positively identified as Bette. She is still unconscious. She’s has not woken up from surgery and they are doing a neurological assessment on her." Peggy informed Kit that she will have a private jet ready in later in the day to fly her and anyone who wants to come to New York City.

"Peggy has a private jet that’s going to take me to New York." Kit walked over to Tina and pulled her up from the couch. "Tina, would you like to come?" Tina nodded and tears fell from her eyes. "Alice, Dana, Shane…can you take care of the Planet for me? I’ll Sheila my manager know what’s going."

"Yeah…sure Kit. You didn’t even have to ask." Alice said. Shane and Dane nodded in agreement. "Just call us when you know more."

Kit and Tina left the Planet and went home to pack a bag and agreed to meet back at the café in an hour to wait for the car Peggy is sending over to pick them up and drive them to the airport.

Hours Later

Kit and Tina boarded Peggy Peabody’s private jet and sat down in the seats, each lost in their thoughts.
