Love in the South – Chapter 4

SHANE:  Fuck!  Al, I hate those things!

ALICE:  It’ll be O.K. Shane.  Don’t get mad or anything.

    SHANE:  It’s not that Al.

DANA:  Hey Shane (gives her a hug)

SHANE:  Hey Dane!  When did you get that?

DANA:  I got it from Amy for my birthday.

SHANE:  The straight married fan?  Nice gift.

DANA:  Yeah, I know right!  Al seems to think I shouldn’t have accepted it, but there was no return address, just a note that said Happy Birthday! signed by Amy.

SHANE:  Well, I hope you’re not going to keep your face hidden behind that thing all the time.

DANA:  No!  I brought my tri-pod.  I just didn’t set it up yet.

SHANE:  (grabbing the tri-pod) Where do you want it?

DANA:  Over there would be fine. (pointing between the grill and the table)

(Shane set the tri-pod up and Dana set the camera on it)

DANA:  There that should do it.

    SHANE:  Want a beer?

    DANA:  Sure

(Shane disappears to get a beer and Dana zooms in on Bette flipping the meat on the grill)

DANA:  MMMMMM that looks and smells so good!

BETTE:  The one thing I can proudly say I’m good at.

TINA:  (walking by) when it comes to cooking.  (smiling and grabbing Bette by the waist in a hug and kisses her on the neck and looks into the camera) There is one other thing she’s better at

ALICE:  Hey!  I said it once I’ll say it again!  Let’s keep this tape "G" rated.

    DANA:  "PG-13" Al!

(Shane walks back with Dana’s beer)

ALICE:  Oh yeah!  I forgot!  Since Shane’s on it, it’ll have to be PG-13.

(They all laugh.  Shane handed Dana her beer and picked up Alice.)

    ALICE:  Shane!  Put me down!

SHANE:  (walking as fast as she can to the pool)  Nope!  Not yet!

ALICE:  Put me down Shane!  Now!

SHANE:  O.K., but only if you insist.

ALICE:  Oh, I insist!  Put me down this instant!

(Shane threw Alice in the pool and dove in behind her.  Alice started dunking Shane.  Bette, Tina, and Dana are laughing.)

ALICE:  Hey Shane!  Look it!  They’re laughing at us!

SHANE:  You thinking what I’m thinking?

    ALICE:  Yeah!

TINA:  I’m going in the house for a minute.  Bette, can you help me?

    1. Wow this was good…um…a little spooky if nothing else follows that statement, but I love this story. Hopefully Bette will stay and talk, where is she off to? The kids are staying over right? Does Bette have someone waiting for her? Please post soon.

    2. This is a great story. I think it eerie that Dana says “stop fighting” and they both stop to listen to the tape. Now, if they could only start listening to each other ? Maybe that will be your next chapter.

    3. this is a great story of them finding each other again with kids adds to the bonus part but its a little weird what danas has said but hopefully they will listen to her.please soon not soooooo long of absent next time.

    4. I miss Dana and the rest of the gang too. Why did what’s her face screw with the best gang in the world? Dana always knew how to get people to listen even if it was in her goofy way. That was emotional chapter but nice to see the girls when life was about friends and lovers.

    5. Geez Bette! It takes Dana breaking through an alternate dimension to try to get you to stay and talk to T! Why is it so hard? Listen to your kids…sit down and talk and then live life in the present day! Great story Sue! Can’t wait for more!
