    Talk That Talk

    Chapter 62:

    Tina had been touring the illustrious Stanford campus and it’s beautiful.  Tina is very impressed  but will hold off judgement until she sees USC.  If she were being honest she is just  a little intimidated by her surroundings.  She is trying to picture herself on this campus next year.  She would certainly get an excellent education here, it is one of the best ranked schools in the nation.  She knows however, that the best thing about this campus is the presence of one collegiate in particular.  How great would it be to play on the same team again.

    The Cardinals vs. The Lady Vols

    Stanford is having a solid game and playing great defense.  It is a low scoring game at the half with the Cardinals leading 33-21.  

    The second half is a little more exciting and Tina notes that Bette starts the second half and is having a killer game with 23 points and 11 rebounds. It’s her first double double of the season.  Bette comes out of the game with 2 minutes left and hears it from the crowd.  She looks up and makes eye contact with Tina and winks at her before she sits down.  Tina just sits there with a grin on her face.

    Tina is so proud of Bette.  She begins to think of how much fun it would be if they both played on the same team for the next two years.   
     
    “Is that your girl?”  Tina turns to the source of the inquiry and blinked.  She sees an attractive woman with piercing blue eyes staring back at her.  

    “Are you speaking to me?”  Tina asked.

    “Yes I am.”  The woman replied moving from her row to sit next to Tina.  Tina moves further from the woman and looks her in the eye .

    “Not that  it’s any of your business, but yes Bette’s my girlfriend.  Why?”

    “Well I was just wondering because she told me she had a girlfriend back home who was still in high school.  I’m Leslie by the way.”  The woman said holding out her hand to the blond.

    “Hi Leslie, I’m Tina.  How do you know Bette?”

    “I work the door at the Playhouse.  It’s a popular off campus bar that the team hangs out at.  Bette seldom joins them and now I see why.”  She said looking Tina up and down.

    1. Great to see Bette being frank to Tina. No doubt is not easy to maintain relationship, however with their will strong, there’s nothing they can’t conquered

    3. I don’t know, Tina may have a point. They’re so young and should be able to explore other meaningful relationships. Especially Tina, since Bette is her first you shouldn’t settle so quickly. My vote for her school choice is USC. Thanks for the awesome post ✊😃

It seems like Tina has been doing some soul searching, since her wondering if she’ll maintain her attraction to women in the future is pretty deep for a 17 year old in love [since everyone knows 17 years olds in love wear blinders and think that all love endures, and that we all live happily forever]

    7. Thing is, Bette’s sown her wild oats, pre-Tina. She’s seen what’s out there while she was still in high school and made her choice. Tina’s not had that same experience. That doesn’t make it a bad thing, though. People DO find the person that they want to be with at a young age and stay with them, without the need to “play” and sleep around until they make up their mind that what they had is what they want after all. But it will be interesting to see how they work it out and if they can last. Thank you for the post. :)

Glad they finally “talked” but Bette’ s head must be spinning. 1st Tina is upset that Bette was dancing with her crush, but then she suggest that Bette go out dancing with the team, huh? 2nD Bette gets no credit for not hooking up with a crush and I’d instead accused of using her,huh? I get that they are young and dealing with a lot but Tina is ask just mg a lit of her f2f. I still think deserves a lot of credit for dealing with all the temptation around her, bug still remaining faithful to Tina. After the visit maybe Tina’ s expectations will be lower since she had a minor glimpse of what Bette is dealing with. the best thing that happened on the visit was Leslie flirting with Tina and . letting her know that Bette has been nothing but a good girl. well maybe the 2nD best thing that happened that weekend ;-) thanks for another great update. pps

    10. Thanks for the update. I agree with jp22, that we all don’t have to try out everything that comes out way if we have found the one that compliments us. We are all different and react differently so hopefully they will last tho it seems that TIna isn’t convinced.
