Part One

A black luxury vehicle drove down a winding driveway. The trees hung over the driveway casting dancing shadows on the car. The car stopped at a very large Villa. 80’s pop could be heard from a window on the second floor. A woman with short brown hair stepped out of the back seat. She carried a brief case in one hand and two wrapped presents in the other. She walked in the front door.

"I’m home, and I have surprises." She said loudly. She sat her briefcase down on the bench in the foyer. She smiled when she heard the piter pater of little feet upstairs. She looked to the top of the stairs.

"Mommy’s home." A little girls with dark blue eyes and brown hair that was French braided into pigtails. She had on paint covered overalls and no shoes.

"Hey baby." The woman said picking up the little girl.

"Mama said you had a surprise for me." She said.

"I do, but first where’s Mama?" The woman asked.

"In the studio, Can I have it now?" The little girl said.

"Yes. Here you go." The woman said.

"Thank you Mommy." The little girl said.

"You welcome baby, but there are rules that go with that present." The woman said.

"Cool. I love it." The little girl said opening the box of the latest hand held video game.

"Now let’s go surprise Mama." The woman said picking up the other gift off the table and headed up the stairs behind the little girl.

The little girl went into a room with a decorated door. The woman smiled seeing her daughter sit down at the table that was covered with Legos. She went further down the hallway to an open door. The closer she got the louder the music got. She stopped in the doorway, and watched the woman who her daughter looked and acted so much like.

"Hey baby. Did Callie like her gift?" She asked.

"She did. I hope you do too." The woman said holding up a small wrapped box.

"Cat you didn’t." Jess said wiping the paint off her hands and taking the box.
