    Life As We Know It – #401 – The L Word S4

“Where are you from?” countered Shane.

“Texas.  New Orleans, Seattle, Portland, Bangor, Juliet, name it, I’ve been there,” offered Bree.

“Travel a lot, eh?” Shane said, easily falling into her flirtatious mode.

“That I do.  So, should I drop you off here, or would you like to come inside?” asked Bree.  Shane looked up at the welcoming looking house, thinking of the letter she’d written Carmen, that was sitting in her jacket pocket right now.  The other letter, the one that confessed everything that she’d done.

                “Inside sounds good.”

    Life As We Know It

“Are you serious about this?  This woman?” Max lamented to Jenny, Claude walking half the length of the hallway ahead of them.

“What do you mean, am I serious?  Max, Moira…  you want to change, that’s fine.  I just think you should stay who you are, I liked who you were, this new you, I don’t enjoy being with, Max,” admitted Jenny.

Grabbing Jenny’s arm, turning her towards him.  “What do you mean you don’t like being with me?  Because I’m a man?  Because…,”

“Because you changed!  You want money, you want a cock, you want a perfect wife.  I’m not that, I’ll never be that.  It’s over, Max,” affirmed Jenny.  Hurrying to catch up to Claude.  Catching her around the waist playfully, leaving Max to watch her leaving.

    Life As We Know It

Helena sat at the bar, nursing a sixth, in what she hoped to be, many drinks.  Her blue eyed vision was blurry, but none to blurry to see who was walking into the bar.  Tall, blonde, blue eyes, regal in stature.

“Oh bullocks,” groaned Helena, waving to the bartender for another drink.

“Helena, I see that mother, has indeed, done what she said she would,” the woman who sat next to her said.

“Prudence, is there a reason you are here?”

“To pick up the pieces, once again, Helena,” said Prudence.  “I never did quite understand your fallibility.”

“I am not fallible.  I’m human,” replied Helena.  “I just want to be human,” lamented the British woman, beginning to sob.

“Yes, of course.  We all want that, now don’t we?”

Prudence eased Helena from her perch, then taking her to her room, where she hoped she could sober up before Peggy called her.

    Life As We Know It

“We’ll go home, Carmen.  You can forget all about her,” said Carmen’s mother.

“I’ll never forget her, Mami.  She’s always going to be in my heart.  The heart she broke, but she’s always going to be there,” admitted Carmen as she packed.

“If she came begging to you, here, tonight, what would you do?  Take her back?” asked her mother loudly.

“Truthfully?” Carmen asked.  “I’d ask her to marry me, Mami,” Carmen said softly.  “That’s how much I love her.”
