    Life As We Know It – #401 – The L Word S4

“I have to go back,” sighed Bette.  Gently easing the car onto the side of the road, making a three point turn, and heading back to the lodge.

It took, what felt like, less time to get to the lodge, than it had taken to leave.  Then again, the trip back always did seem to take less time, didn’t it?  Sitting in the car, looking up staring at the lodge.  The place where so many good things should have come to light, but instead, only bad things had come from this place.

                In Tina’s Room

“I will NOT call the police on Bette!” yelled Tina.  Henry threw his hands up, angry and frustrated.

“She stole your baby,” reminded Henry.

“Angelica is our baby.  I should never have said those things to her tonight.  I should never have gone back on my word.  Damn it, why did I listen to you!” yelled Tina.

“I want us to be a family,” began Henry.

“If we get married, and I remind you, we are way away from us walking down that aisle, I cannot adopt your kid either,” blared Tina.  A loud knocking at the door interrupted their tirade.

Stomping to the door, Tina yanked the door open, revealing Bette with a slumbering Angelica in her arms.  Tina didn’t move, stunned that Bette, indeed, hadn’t kidnapped Angelica.  “Angie,” sighed Tina.  Taking her from Bette’s arms.

“I just took her for a ride, I missed having her,” said Bette.  She saw in Tina’s eyes that Tina knew it was a lie, but she said nothing.

“You are lucky we didn’t call the cops on you, Bette!  We were sick with worry, if you ever pull a stunt like this again, we’ll make sure you never see Angelica again!” yelled Henry.

Tina turned to face Henry, her dark eyes filled with anger.  “Get out,” she said calmly.

                “What?” Henry asked.

“You heard me the first time, get out.”

“Tina,” began Henry.  But Tina put her hand up, cutting him off.

                “Leave,” she restated.
