Just The Girl 2.0 – Chapter Twenty Five, Prologue
“Thanks for that, by the way.” Shane pipes in with a smile.
Being that the business is a joint venture between the two bestfriends, Bette is extra proud of their accomplishments – and she attributes it mostly to Sam’s hard work. Although she wants to play a larger role in the day to day operations of their restaurants and clubs, Bette admits that it was just not feasible considering her staggering schedule at the PGC. Luckily, Sam is there to pick up the slack. And for this, Bette is nothing but grateful. “Sam’s dedicated and she works hard, she’s pretty hands on. She surprised me, I must admit. Don’t get me wrong, I never doubted her abilities, I knew she had what it takes to make it successful, but she just blew me away with what she’s able to do in such a short amount of time.” Bette compliments her bestfriend. In response, Sam takes it all in and smiles. “Although.. my only gripe about her is that she has the penchant for sleeping on the job.” Bette teases. The girls laugh and Sam grins sheepishly. Apparently, the girl loves her sleep. I could attest to this. Throughout the interview, she yawns quite frequently and sometimes looks half-asleep. Her friends assured me that its completely normal and I shouldn’t take it as a sign that Sam was bored. Thank God, for a while there I was worried I was putting them to sleep with my questions.
At one point, after Sam let out another loud yawn, Alice stops talking about her relationship with oil heiress Dana Fairbanks and flags down our waitress. “Bring her a keg of black coffee please.” She grins jokingly, cocking her head at her sleepy friend. The rest laughs, Sam smiles sleepily and scratches her neck feebly.
“She sleeps like the dead,” Alice continues. “There was one time a few years back in Yale, we stuck a pocket rocket up her ass while she slept.”
Pocket rocket?
“A small vibrator.” Bette explains. She approximates the size using her thumb and index finger. From what I could tell, its roughly the length of a cigarette.
“Sammy barely stirred.” Shane nods thoughtfully, remembering.
“And she was wondering the next day why her ass felt full.” Alice laughs. By this point, Sam’s cheeks were burning a deep shade of red. But like a true sport, she laughed it off after a few moments.
