“Well good because I’m going to be more than ok. You‘re a great guy Eric, thanks for being there for me.”
“You’re welcome Tina, be careful don’t give your heart away too quickly to this guy.”
‘Too late, but you have the wrong gender Eric’ Tina thinks.
“And you don’t give your body away too quickly.”
“I can’t promise that. Be sure to call me if you need a stand in.” Eric smiles
“Sure Eric, thanks for being so understanding. Bye.”
“Bye Tina.”
Tina hangs up looks at the brochure puts it to her heart. “That went better that I thought it would. I’m glad that’s now that that out of the way.” pulling the brochure away to look at it. “Ms Bette Porter, I sure would like to get to know you better.”
Chapter 9
Tina retrieves her earring
Tina calls the gallery before Bette arrived for the day. James takes her call.
“Hello this is The Bette Porter Gallery James speaking how my I help you?”
“Hello James. This is Tina Kennard I attended the artist dinner last night.”
“Yes, Ms. Kennard you must be calling about your earring.”
“Yes I was. Great it was found.”, she says sounding surprised. “Yes, Ms Porter recognized it as being yours and she put it away for you. She was planning to call you herself once she made it in today. Would you be coming in to retrieve it or would you like for me to send it to you?”
“Well… actually I have a few errands to run today so I’ll stop by and pick it up. What time will Ms porter be in?”
“About one o’clock, but I know where she placed it so you can come by anytime for it.”
“Well, thank you James I’ll be by sometime to today for it. What time does the gallery close today?”
“Five PM and you’re welcome.”
“Bye”
“See you later Ms Kennard”
Like clock work Bette arrives by one PM, excited about the possibility of seeing or speaking to Tina.
“Afternoon James, how are you today?
“Doing great boss, everything is almost all caught up.”
James hands her a stack of phone memos. She glance through and notices a phone memo that Tina called about her earring. She wondered if she missed her opportunity to see her by coming in this late.
