When Eric and I had first gotten together and we would have a fight, I would run to the beach to get away from him. It was always a short trip because regardless of the fight and how mad I may have been, I always had school work to do and had to return to study. If Mom and Dad sent some money, I would take off after a disagreement, taking my books with me and check into a cheap motel for the evening. Our fights were never of any substance and generally a result of us having too much on our plates and a conversation being interpreted incorrectly. He knew after a couple times that my going to the beach was about my need to be away from him but also my need to find my center again and when I returned, I would be fine. He never pressured me. He respected my need to be alone.
I pulled into the familiar motel. It was not more than a dump but the rooms were clean and it was on the beach so it served my purpose. I walked into the lobby and requested a room for the night. I was given one and jumped back into my car to drive back to it. I unloaded my things and went to get some ice from the machine. Knowing that having a drink with no food on my stomach was a disaster in the making, I ordered a pizza and drank water. I opened the sliding glass door and immediately felt myself relaxing as I heard the sounds of the waves. I think that as I first heard the almost melodious songs of the ocean one the few smiles of the day graced my face. I quickly changed into some yoga pants and a tank top and sat down to watch the waves. I was lost in my own thoughts when there was a knock on the door. I grabbed some money out of my purse as I walked over to answer it. The delivery man apologized for taking so long but I hadn’t noticed the length of time and assured him that it was not a problem. I handed him the money, told him to keep the change and took the pizza. He wished me a good night. I hoped for one as well.

I like that Tina and Shane are friends it’a great twist to how they all become framily. Weli, we are set up for the conversation and I’m ready to hear it as soon as you are ready to post it. And I will try to be patient.
Love it. Tina is always obsessed by Bette’s behind. Don’t see the reason myself. Anyway, great chapter and the time is upon us to hear their talk and I can hardly wait for it.Pleasepost as soon as possible.

i also like the friendships that are forming… and its funny how both tina and shane know alice has a big mouth… and now the time has come for bette appointment… i thnk when bette leaves and they say goodbye… bette should pull tina in for a KISS… and to be continued when they both can continue their love story… loving this… PPS

Gosh, I’d all but forgotten about Jiffy Pop. I’m trying to decide whether Shane’s motives for warning Tina about Bette were altruistic or a little self serving due to how she feels about Tina. I love their friendship however…each of them have a close friend to rely on. You’re the best NAG…wonderful update…awaiting the next!

I was blown away by Shane’s sense of intuition. She nailed the problem – no wonder Tina avoided her most of the weekend. Although the information was less than positive about Bette, Tina is intelligent and will not allow her emotions to rule. Love the way you are handling the dialogue – it is really moving. Well, I’m on the same page as Tina. I have to say that the Melvin-on-the-phone scene with JB’s white-stripey-pj-clad ass was a highlight of the series for me. Now, let’s get Bette moved on with Steve, and get the Bette & Tina show on the road!
So Tina is really struggling with this thing with Bette. Shane is so wrong about Bette not doing relationships. She did not do them until this one therapist entered her life. I have a feeling that Bette is willing to settle down once she and Tina are able to go out together.
