Before she knew it, Bette looked up from her nearly finished cup of coffee to see that Angelica had finished her cereal.
“Geez! Where do you put it all?”
“Down my throat and into my belly,” Angelica said confidently, holding her stomach with a smile of great pride.
Bette chuckled, shaking her head instinctively. What a strange explanation. “Excellent.”
“Can I put on what I want, Mommy?” she asked Tina excitedly, perched on the edge of her seat.
Tina turned to look over her shoulder, waited a moment, and then smiled. “Go ahead.”
“Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!”
Bette laughed again into her mug as Angelica went running down the hall.
“No running please!” Tina called after her, sauntering over to Bette and sitting in her lap.
“… Ahhh. I see what you want.” She brought her hands around Tina and allowed a soft kiss to warm her lips. “Is this what you want?” She had to admit, she wanted it too.
“Mmm,” Tina smiled, wishing she could straddle Bette, but also knowing that was wildly inappropriate with Angelica still in the house. “We’re off work until after Christmas, baby. Isn’t that exciting?”
Without having to think of a tease, Bette mimicked Angelica with the same adorable gesture. “I’m this excited!” She reached both arms out, and Tina had to throw her arms around Bette’s neck so she wouldn’t fall off of her lap. “Really really really-”
“Ahh! Bette!” she laughed, finally steadying herself just as Bette brought her hands to balance Tina’s back and her legs.
“I really am excited,” she answered quietly, looking into the depth she saw in Tina’s eyes. “To be with you.”
“Me too,” Tina moaned forcing herself to get up before walking over to the counter and leaned over on it just slightly. But she knew it would catch Bette’s attention, and when she looked over her shoulder, she enjoyed the look on her wife’s face. She gasped dramatically, twirling around in feigned shock, making sure to whisper. “Don’t you dare objectify me!”
Bette nearly pounced out of her chair toward Tina, who ran laughing and screaming down the hall. As she saw Angelica step out in a surprisingly well-dressed ensemble, Tina headed for her daughter’s room. She quickly in, holding Angelica in front of her just as Bette stopped at the door. “Mommy’s gonna get us!” Tina laughed, earning a pretend scream from Angelica too, as she backed over to the wall.
