    Nobody leaves

     

     

    “Wife, he does not speak with my consent however I consent to his challenge for his place as my husband.”  Spock answered meeting first Rhaina’s eyes before meeting Jim’s.

     

     

    “Father” Elizabeth broke in.  “You have no right to claim the consort of another.”

     

     

    “I have the most ancient rite to claim the consort of another daughter. I claim Spock of Vulcan as the mate of my soul.  I claim him as the man that I love and have denied and can deny no more.  I claim his as the truest love I have ever known.  I claim his body as I have held his heart and soul for all time and would make my claim complete.”

     

     

    There was utter silence as their families measured Spock and Kirk. 

     

     

    “Rhaina, will you yield Spock or do I have to fight for him?”

     

     

    “You will not fight my mother” Christina declared rising from her seat. “You will yield your claim.”

     

     

    “I will not fight your mother but rather her designee, daughter.  I will not yield your father.  I will die before I yield him.”

     

     

    “Jim” Spock stepped forward.  “You do not know what you are saying.”

     

    “Oh Spock, yes I do.  I will not yield you.  I have loved you and been afraid to claim you for far too long.  I can no longer pretend that you are not my whole world.  I have walked away from you for the last time.  I will not walk away without you.  I will walk away with you or I will die because leaving without you is not an option for me any longer.”

     

     

    Kirk and his outrageous courage transfixed Rhaina.  She always understood that this man held her husband’s heart.  She saw the way they stood together and the energy that was theirs alone long before Spock in unguarded moments in their meld disclosed more than he ever knew.  She had hoped that she could replace the hazel-eyed man whose image was often in her husband’s mind.  She could not.

     

     

    “I have lived with you in my marriage for far to long Kirk of Terran” Rhaina conceded.  “For decades now I have tried to fill your place and cannot.  Spock is not aware of how often your image was in his mind even as we mated.  There were times where I had him to myself for a moment and then you would return.”

    3. Oh boy tough decisions indeed. This is like incest or something. I hope this can be resolved without much harm.Well if Spock chooses Kirk then Rhaina and Rau can be together.

    8. I am going on a school field trip and decided that I would buy cereal for a snack. I have always had a weakness for fruit loops. In the fruit loops package, I received my very own beam me up Scottie thingy. I feel very honored to own this item. I am glad that I am not in Spock’s position, but if he is anything like his Christina then he will come through this.

    12. kelika i just had to leave a comment. i came late to reading fanfic, just this year. your stories are absolutely brilliant i have loved reading every one of them . your writing is so mesmerising . i was never into star trek , had it been like this then i would so have been. anyway please finish this story its just to good to be left unfinished i hope you return one day. i so wish you could have written season 6 . living in anticipation. once again your writing is brilliant.

    17. HMMM, yes it seems very incestuous but spock and kirk are not blood relatives. i’m sure they’ll find a way to sort it out without too much damage. Rau is verp protective and patient so looking 4ward when she gets a chance to consummate her love for Rhaina. they r all very noble people. i like that. thx as always for an intriguing chapter. much love.

Then he will see that it is right and good to let go of Rhaina now so she too can be free to find her great love, just as he has found in Kirk.     20. Poor Spock…What a ting!!! A male suffering a complete breakdown and emotional overload when faced with making a difficult choice. Hmmm. Now why does that sound so familiar? I hope he has the gumption to wake up and face the reality of the situation he’s helped create. I’m sure the outcome will be nowhere as bad as he imagines. Rhaina has lived with the fact of Spock’s love for Kirk for so long… I’m sure she’s looking forward to exploring a new love and life with Commander Rau.
