    Nobody leaves

    Kirk paused at the threshold.  He had not expected Elizabeth and Christina to be breaking their fast with Rhaina and Spock.  He smiled this could work even better than he imagined.  Royal Commander Rau personally stood guard at the doorway and gave him a hard stare.  He in return gave her his most charming smile.

     

     

    Like so many before her she unwillingly smiled back.

     

     

    “I would speak with Queen Rhaina.” He stated matter of factly.

     

     

    “She is breakfasting with her family and is not to be disturbed.” The guard in her returned.

     

     

    “By right of challenge of Vulcan. I will speak with her now.”

     

     

    “Right of challenge?” Rau was shocked. “Do you understand what you say Terran?”

     

     

    “I do.” Kirk answered.

     

     

    She looked at him again and it dawned on her that this was the correct thing to do.  She grudgingly nodded in respect.

     

     

    She moved into the threshold.

     

     

    “Queen Rhaina, Kirk of Terran would speak with you.”

     

     

    The four gathered at table looked at her in surprise.  It was a violation of the protocol of polite society to interrupt a private family meal.

     

     

    “Tell him we are not receiving visitors, Commander.”  Rhaina frowned.

     

     

    “Kirk of Terran would challenge you for your mate by Vulcan rite.”

     

     

    Rhaina the Warrior Queen responded.  “By Vulcan rite?”  She paused as her blood rose in answer to the threat to her place.  “Show him in.”

     

     

    Kirk strode into the room full of purpose.  His air of command was second nature and everyone reacted to his alpha stance.

     

     

    “Good Morning, Queen Rhaina, second mother to my daughter and wife of Spock.  My apologies for interrupting your breakfast however I can no longer keep silence, by Vulcan rite I would take your place as Consort to Spock and take him as my husband.”

     

     

    “By Vulcan rite, you will take my place, Kirk of Terran?” Rhaina challenged.

     

     

    “I will” Kirk did not waver and met her eyes.

     

     

    Hazel eyes met hazel eyes.

     

     

    “Husband” Rhaina looked at Spock and saw that he was as shocked as she was by this public declaration of intent.  “Does this Kirk of Terran speak with your consent?”

    3. Oh boy tough decisions indeed. This is like incest or something. I hope this can be resolved without much harm.Well if Spock chooses Kirk then Rhaina and Rau can be together.

    8. I am going on a school field trip and decided that I would buy cereal for a snack. I have always had a weakness for fruit loops. In the fruit loops package, I received my very own beam me up Scottie thingy. I feel very honored to own this item. I am glad that I am not in Spock’s position, but if he is anything like his Christina then he will come through this.

    12. kelika i just had to leave a comment. i came late to reading fanfic, just this year. your stories are absolutely brilliant i have loved reading every one of them . your writing is so mesmerising . i was never into star trek , had it been like this then i would so have been. anyway please finish this story its just to good to be left unfinished i hope you return one day. i so wish you could have written season 6 . living in anticipation. once again your writing is brilliant.

    17. HMMM, yes it seems very incestuous but spock and kirk are not blood relatives. i’m sure they’ll find a way to sort it out without too much damage. Rau is verp protective and patient so looking 4ward when she gets a chance to consummate her love for Rhaina. they r all very noble people. i like that. thx as always for an intriguing chapter. much love.

Then he will see that it is right and good to let go of Rhaina now so she too can be free to find her great love, just as he has found in Kirk.     20. Poor Spock…What a ting!!! A male suffering a complete breakdown and emotional overload when faced with making a difficult choice. Hmmm. Now why does that sound so familiar? I hope he has the gumption to wake up and face the reality of the situation he’s helped create. I’m sure the outcome will be nowhere as bad as he imagines. Rhaina has lived with the fact of Spock’s love for Kirk for so long… I’m sure she’s looking forward to exploring a new love and life with Commander Rau.
