Bette went to her desk and closed the laptop. She needed to get home. Kit would meet her at the house in less than an hour. She gathered the stuff she needed to bring home and went to lock up before she left.

Tina had been putting off the discussion she needed to have with Henry. When she came home Sunday night he was already asleep. He worked late on Monday, which wasn’t uncommon during the weeks when Mikey was at his mom’s. He needed to make up for leaving work early on the weeks, when he spent time with his son. When Henry came home around 10pm Monday night, he was still pissed off with Tina for not coming with him to his parents. He ignored her and went straight to bed. Tuesday came and Tina knew she had to make sure, they had the opportunity to talk soon.
When she parked the car in the driveway around eight o’clock Tuesday night, Henry’s car was already there. She went through the house calling out his name. She got no answer. She looked out the window and saw him swimming laps in the pool. It didn’t look like he was going to finish any time soon so she went out to the pool, took off her shoes, and sat down with her feet in water to wait for him to finish exercising.
After twenty minutes Henry stepped out of the water. He grabbed his towel still ignoring Tina and went towards the house.
“Henry… could you just stop for two minutes?” Tina asked.
He stopped but didn’t turn around. “Are you going to apologize?” he countered.
Tina was in no way prepared to apologize for not going to Henry’s parents. There would be too many, so much more important things she would have to apologize for.
“Could we just sit down and talk for a while?” she asked, ignoring his request for an apology.
“I need to change first…” he said, before he disappeared into the house.
Tina didn’t even know where to begin the discussion they were going to have. She was nervous, her heart was beating too fast, and they hadn’t even begun yet.
When he returned, Tina was wringing her hands and had started to break a sweat. He mistook her appearance for guilt over her behavior on Sunday.
“Tina, you don’t have to look so contrite… I told my parents, you weren’t feeling well. You’re more than welcome at their house any time. We’ll get over it.”
“…ok… Henry, that’s not really what I wanted to talk to you about…”
“Oh… well, what do you wanna talk about?” he said and sat down in a chair behind Tina.
Tina didn’t want to turn around and look at him. She forced herself to her feet and sat down in the chair next to him.
“I don’t think we’re in a very good place, Henry… “ Tina began.
He frowned at her, “in general or since this weekend?”
“In general…” she whispered and looked down.
Henry looked like he was going over the past five months in his mind.
“Are you happy with me, Henry? Cause you don’t seem happy to me…”
“I am happy… not all the time but most of the time. You can’t expect to be happy all the time, Tina… maybe your expectations are unrealistic. You expect me to sweep you off your feet and take you away to some imaginary place where everybody is happy all the time. It’s not real, Tina… life doesn’t work that way,” Henry said getting agitated.

As long as B&T are on the same page (and we seem to be, too), I’m good for now… though I’d be lying if I said my mind went to PHONE sex…. anyway, happy dance. Post more soon (readers are so demanding, don’t you think? ;) )
I love that Tina is being strong and that Bette is supporting her. Now they can start to move forward. pps
Tina was honest with Henry and he has the rigth to be angry but Tina was in the correct when she told him that he knew the condition and the Tina’s past when they started the relationship. Now Tina will have do deal some hard time but she has Bette that will support her.
well henry knew the deal way up front… tina never lies to him… and i also think its the best idea for her to live some where else for now… they have to learn to trust each other… be best friends dirst… and then hopefully find the love they have for each other again… you are doing a wonderful job with this… i love it… so keep up the good work… later babe…

It would have been so easy for Tina to go to Bette now, but glad to see her realize she needs to rely on herself and not on Bette so much. Great chapter and can’t wait for the next one. They will be able to work it out because the love is still there. Thanks!
not too slow, and i agree with others, tina needs to figure out why she did all those things and what she wants before going back to bette, at least she knows that bette is there for her

Ya know you made me feel bad for Henry and Mikey- hate when that happens. Anothet great chapter, finally Tina sees that she needs to be by herself for a lil bit. Thanks for takin the time.
For once they seem to be taking their time. Even though they both want to cuddle with the other, they know that in the end they have to be stronger as an individual.

Tina is right she shouldn’t go back to Bette. They need to get to know each other and to trust each other again. Be best friends before thinking of being lovers. Hey,I believe that old Henry wanted a housewife and a bed partner,and someone to take care of Micky. He is as guilty as Tina. thanks

So sweet and so wonderful. Please have Tina go to Bette eventually and let Bette be a friend to her or something! It is time to start communicating and let each other back in one another’s hearts.

Why did the line suddenly go dead…Henry hasn’t gone burko has he??? Don’t let T come to any harm and lead her back to Bette soon…
It’s sad that lil Mikey will be the one to get hurt but it had to be done to move forward. Henry knew what he was up against…he was up against 8 years of love to his what 8 months of cohabitating…get real Henry. She did the right thing in going to a hotel…they need to take it slow and possibly date again.
