    “Hi, baby.”

    “Hi honey. Sorry about the delay, I was on a call with George’s assistant.”

    “Paige?”

    “Yes — George wanted to meet me in the St. Regis instead of where we’d originally agreed.”

    “Oh? Having dinner with him?”

    “Uh huh. He’s bringing a new lady love. I think he wants me to give her a once over,” Tina was smirking.

    “Don’t be too hard on her. We want him to finally find someone, right?” Bette answered with a smile.

    “Definitely. Otherwise, he’ll be forever pining after you,” Tina answered with a light laugh.

    “Funny. So, T, what did you have in mind?”

    Tina bit her lower lip, and then licked her lips, not answering at first.   She proceeded slowly, “I’ve been thinking about an idea … and it could sound crazy. But I hope you hear me out before telling me it is.”

    Bette smiled, and blew her an air kiss, “T, nothing could be crazier than what we’ve already done. Fertilizing my egg, and having Liz implant the embryo in you. Never in a million years would I have thought we’d do that one day. And yet, crazy as it sounded like at the time, I’m convinced what we’ve done is the best, or one of the best, decisions we’ve ever made.”

    “I agree, baby,” Tina returned Bette’s smile, tearing up a little, still feeling emotional about what they’d decided to do, in the end.

    The idea had come to Tina first, as they enjoyed a relaxing breakfast with Angie in the terrace, the day after Tina had told Bette she was no longer ovulating.

    While they were speculating about how they could better prepare as they waited another month, or until Tina ovulated, Tina wondered aloud to Bette about whether they really had to wait that long.

    “We can use your egg or eggs, right?” she suggested, an idea beginning to coalesce in her mind, her memory about books and articles she’d read about the subject while pregnant with Angelica suddenly surfacing. What had caught her attention at that time was the fact that a growing number of Manhattan couples were turning to surrogates to carry their babies to term.

    “Mine?” Bette asked, as she wiped some of the mashed eggs that she’d been feeding Angie off of Angie’s face.

    4. I really love this story, even though I rarely write a comment.
      but I don’t understand Bette go to wherever, why a woman need to fly like a bird of prey? Bette is a very beautiful woman, but it’s like the women who encounter with her, there is no self-control.
      I always love Bette and Tina’s deep love for each other in this story. but the trouble was that Bette never drew the line against others.
      and Diane was perhaps a little too protective now, compared to a friend’s role.
      I hope Tina will not be angry if Bette tells her the “meeting”.
      the telephone conversation was sweet between them.

    6. Great update! Bette has to be careful right now with an emotionally hormonal Tina. She has to know that she can’t just roam and conquer. I like the sidekick role of Diane. She will kept Bette accountable. Damn that woman has would be lovers everywhere. Keep posting, please.

    7. Thanks for the post. Bette needs a full time body guard just to keep her admirers away! You would think she would have learned to have set boundaries with her admirers since Tina got upset with her “incidents” in the past.

    8. There are things happening in the world that beggar the imagination, I know. But a planeload of people blown out of the sky? Just another level of insanity — all those lives lost. One minute here. The next….

      May not be the right forum, but I just can’t shake the feeling, “there but for the grace of God …” for one who takes to the skies.

      I loved the chapter, especially when I read that Toms sperm was used to fertilize bettes eggs, that is what I was hoping for all along. That is going to be one beautiful baby.
