    After she hung up Tina saw Bette was still inwardly reflective, seeing but not seeing what was going on around her.  Tina smiled, looking around them, hoping that the beautiful day would inspire Bette.  Maybe the brunette would see the house they’d painstakingly remodeled, and where they’d proposed to one another, once it had finally been completed,

    After she hung up Tina saw Bette was still inwardly reflective, seeing but not seeing what was going on around her. 

    Tina smiled, looking around them, hoping that the beautiful day would inspire Bette.  Maybe the brunette would see the house they’d painstakingly remodeled, and where they’d proposed to one another, once it had finally been completed, and be inspired?   The house had been but one milestone in their journey thus far, as they went on building this wonderful life together. She gazed westward toward Central Park, admiring the beautiful green expanse of nature and trees there, and the iconic Manhattan skyline beyond and around it. Just a perfect summer morning, she thought, looking up. Not yet hot, the comfortable temperatures aided by a cool breeze blowing. There were puffy clouds dotting blue skies overhead — everything was right with the world!

    “Bette?” Tina said gently, and then knelt again on one knee beside her wife, and asked, “Honey, do you want to have a baby with me? Because that’s what this means, at the end of the day. It’s about you and me. Expanding our family.”

    The same eureka moment hit Bette then, not blindingly, as it did Tina earlier, but slipping in quietly, like a bird perching on her soul. Of course. Of course I want to have a baby with you. You’re right, this is the perfect answer for us, she thought, smiling at Tina.

    Tina was saying now, as they continued with their FaceTime session, “And I think we timed it right, as Liz says. Placing the embryo as soon as my womb was ready.”

    She sighed, “I’m really glad we’re having our baby this way, Bette.”

    They both touched their screens, figuratively reaching out to each other.

    Tina whispered, “Your egg. In me. I still can’t believe it. Can you?”

    “No… and I can’t wait for this to wrap up and return home to you,” Bette whispered, “I miss you so much, already.”

    They reached out again, touching fingers on their screens, breathing in sync.

    “Bette, honey,” Tina responded warmly, after a few minutes, tearing up, “I carry a part of you everywhere I go now.   You are completely inside me — colonizing not only my heart and mind. You’re even in my womb now. So don’t worry. You’re always with me. Take care of yourself, and do what you need to. Then come home.

    4. I really love this story, even though I rarely write a comment.
      but I don’t understand Bette go to wherever, why a woman need to fly like a bird of prey? Bette is a very beautiful woman, but it’s like the women who encounter with her, there is no self-control.
      I always love Bette and Tina’s deep love for each other in this story. but the trouble was that Bette never drew the line against others.
      and Diane was perhaps a little too protective now, compared to a friend’s role.
      I hope Tina will not be angry if Bette tells her the “meeting”.
      the telephone conversation was sweet between them.
      wondered what Tina had to say to her? :)

    6. Great update! Bette has to be careful right now with an emotionally hormonal Tina. She has to know that she can’t just roam and conquer. I like the sidekick role of Diane. She will kept Bette accountable. Damn that woman has would be lovers everywhere. Keep posting, please.

    7. Thanks for the post. Bette needs a full time body guard just to keep her admirers away! You would think she would have learned to have set boundaries with her admirers since Tina got upset with her “incidents” in the past.

    8. There are things happening in the world that beggar the imagination, I know. But a planeload of people blown out of the sky? Just another level of insanity — all those lives lost. One minute here. The next….

      May not be the right forum, but I just can’t shake the feeling, “there but for the grace of God …” for one who takes to the skies.

      I loved the chapter, especially when I read that Toms sperm was used to fertilize bettes eggs, that is what I was hoping for all along. That is going to be one beautiful baby.
