Chapter 33 – Days of Fun and Then New Haven

Mary: So, she is the expert in getting goods transported from place to place?

Tina:  Yes, as a curator and a museum director, she dealt with that sort of thing all the time. She knows how trucking operations work and she knows it all takes a certain amount of time. And the drivers need a certain amount of rest and need to eat or the load won’t make it in one piece.

Mary: Well, I’m sure Bette has made the best arrangements possible to make sure your furniture arrives in one piece and on time.

Tina:  Yeah, she started working on it the moment we started thinking about putting a bid in on that house. Maybe even before. Just the final destination and the dates that needed to be filled in. I’m just glad this part is done. Another thing to check off our list.

Bette walks out of the bedroom in her jeans and a blousy shirt with the shirt tail hanging out.

Bette: Good morning people! What did I miss?

Tina:  Not much. The doormen are getting out the charity bags and Angie will be down when they are finished.

Bette: Well, I hope everyone has on their walking shoes as we are probably going to do a bit of walking today.

All agreed they were ready for whatever Bette had planned. Angie came down with her purse and they all headed out for the day. They went to their usual spot of breakfast and had a leisurely breakfast. Bette and Tina talked about what all they were planning on doing to the house including what furniture they expected to buy and their hopes for Thanksgiving and for Christmas. Daniel was excited that he would be getting all new bedroom furniture. He had not thought about that aspect of his life and that his current furniture was a little juvenile for him.  Tina informed him that he would be getting adult style furniture but in the pieces that would meet his needs. They were in hopes that it would be suitable for him right on through college.

Bette had added that the decorating of his room would be up to him. But he was expected to keep it in a manner in which he could have guest in without being embarrassed by what they saw.
