Chapter 33 – Days of Fun and Then New Haven
Tina was ready before Bette and started making calls on her cell phone. She called the charity and doormen and arranged for the bags of charity goods to be taken away. The doorman agreed to move the bags into their storage room to await the truck for loading tomorrow morning.
Tina: Bette are you ready? The doormen are coming up to take the charity donations down to the storage room. I need to go show them where the bags are. Everything is in the living room and in the kid’s lounge, are they not?
Bette: Yeah, just make sure that they leave Angie’s stuff right where it is.
Tina: Right. Come join us when you’re ready. We’ll all go to breakfast.
Bette: Be there shortly. Thanks T.
Tina walked out of the room with the laundry basket and dropped it into the laundry room and then went to the service door to greet the doorman. She suggested that they load the service elevator with the bags from the living room, then go up a floor and get the bags out of the kids lounge on the far end of the wall. She would have Angie meet them at the door upstairs to let them in and direct them as to what was to go to charity.
After the doormen were busy carrying bags of clothes out the door, Mary and Daniel came down the stairs.
Mary: Good morning, Tina. Did you sleep well.
Tina: Yes, I did. I hope you two did as well.
Daniel: I slept great. I am little hungry now though.
Tina: We will go get some breakfast and then we will go do something fun for the day. We just need to let the doorman get all the charity bags out first. They will be finished in a few minutes.
Mary: It’s starting to echo in here. Thing are moving out.
Tina: Yes, two more nights and this place will be history. And in a few days, all of it will be on its way to Santa Monica. And thanks to you guys, we’ve done just about all we can do for the move. The packers will be in on next Tuesday and then they will move out the furniture on Wednesday night and it will start toward Santa Monica. Of course, it may be stored somewhere in the truck for a couple of days so that they can arrive on time. I think Bette has that all worked out with the movers. That is her part of the job.
