    Somewhere on Santa Monica Blvd.

    A black Cadillac CTS-V was stuck in traffic with all the windows down, and the sunroof open. Its driver was too ecstatic about the end of the week to care. Having punched around the stations on her SiriusXM Radio, she had finally found a song that was good enough to compliment the mood she was in. She sang along with the words at the top of her lungs as traffic crawled through the stop lights.

    Her mood was infectious as nearby pedestrians, who could hear her live performance, traveled the sidewalks and crosswalks with grins on their faces accompanied by lighthearted giggles.

    When traffic suddenly began moving again, Bette’s singing got louder and her long brown mane blew in the wind. It was a perfect Southern California evening.

    The Planet

    “Hello, Tina,” the brunette said as she pulled up a chair from a nearby table and sat at the end of the booth across from Tina.

    “Jodi. How nice to see you.” Tina forced a smile, but her voice gave her away.

    “I bet.” Jodi said with a smirk.

    Tina’s breath hitched. She said Bette. Fuck, concentrate Tina.

    “So, is Alphaville trying to sign Kit Porter now that she’s back from the dead?” Jodi inquired with a piercing stare and still wearing her smirk.

    “Well that all depends on whether or not she’s got the booze problem under control, Jodi. You know Alphaville isn’t keen on signing substance-abusers.” Tina replied as she leaned onto the table, bringing her that much closer to Jodi.

    1. May i say that i hated character Jodi most in TLW. Even more than Candance or Henry or, i don’t know – Kelly. I don’t know why – maybe because for me actress, who played her really unattractive and see her and JB together it’s absolutely unrealistic. And plus of course i don’t like all characters, who dated with Bette or Tina:)

    2. Isn’t Oscar just great? Quick thinking to prevent Jodie to pay their bill.
      Love the play with words with ‘Bette/bet’. Too cute how Tina’s mind is subcontiously busy with thinking of Bette.

      • As a matter of shameless self-promotion, I posted a fic many moons ago entitled “A Losing Bet(te)” when I foolishly made a bet on a sports event with another writer around these parts. I’m sure you can gather the gist of it from the title alone. =)
