    Chapter 21 – I BET She’s Hella Sexy

    The Planet

“This is probably the best Cobb salad I have ever had.” Tina declared as she tossed her napkin on top of her plate and sat back to allow her meal to digest.

Oscar and Esai both had their mouths full with their own entrées but nodded vigorously in agreement.

“Look at this plate, it was huge. I ate entirely too fast and still couldn’t finish it. I can’t believe I’ve never even heard of this joint. I think I’ve just found my new favorite lunch spot. And the coffee and tea selection is so much better than the overpriced bullshit at Starsucks.”

As the three continued discussing their tasty dinners, a brunette woman walked into the Planet and looked around.

The waitress noticed that Tina was done with her plate and headed for their table.

“Excuse me, miss?” the blonde asked as the young girl picked up her plate. “What can you tell us about the show you guys are hosting on Friday?”

“Show?” the girl repeated with a confused look on her face.

“Kit Porter and the Stouts?” Tina clarified.

The brunette’s ears perked up when she heard a voice utter the name of the band and quickly turned to where the voice had come from. She saw a young waitress standing at a table. Though she could see only a young Latino man on one side of the booth, a large pillar blocked her view of who else was at the booth. A smile slowly crept upon the lips of the brunette as she was pretty sure she recognized the voice. She adjusted her suit jacket and smoothed out any wrinkles on her matching slacks and began walking toward the table.

“Oh,” the waitress blushed. “I’m new. This is only my second day, so, um. The owner is here, though. I can bring her out and she can probably tell you a little more about that.” She offered.

“Only if it’s not any trouble.” Tina said with a warm smile.

The young waitress had noticed the jeans Tina wore and the diamond framed Cartier watch with its trademark roman numerals on the face adorned on her wrist when she first walked in. There was no doubt that this woman was important in this town and if it meant a bigger tip, the young waitress was more than happy to introduce her to the manager.

    1. May i say that i hated character Jodi most in TLW. Even more than Candance or Henry or, i don’t know – Kelly. I don’t know why – maybe because for me actress, who played her really unattractive and see her and JB together it’s absolutely unrealistic. And plus of course i don’t like all characters, who dated with Bette or Tina:)

    2. Isn’t Oscar just great? Quick thinking to prevent Jodie to pay their bill.
Love the play with words with ‘Bette/bet’. Too cute how Tina’s mind is subcontiously busy with thinking of Bette.

      Another great chapter, MeLL

      • As a matter of shameless self-promotion, I posted a fic many moons ago entitled “A Losing Bet(te)” when I foolishly made a bet on a sports event with another writer around these parts. I’m sure you can gather the gist of it from the title alone. =)
