    An old ‘friend’ confuses Dana. Is it really Alice she wants?

     

    “So, are you going to the party later?” asked Lara.

    “Oh, you know about it? Shane’s really going for it I guess!”

    Lara started giggling. “Yeah, she’s”

    “Oh god! What has she done?”

    “Bless her, she’s set up this phone tree, to like, let everyone know about it and give them ‘daily updates’.”

    “Haha! It’s amazing what a girl like Carmen can do to you.”

    As soon as the words left her mouth she regretted saying them. She knew Lara was, how can I put this..a sexual person. There’s no chance Lara would buy that Dana didn’t have a little crush on Carmen. Even without that comment, you would have to be missing eyeballs not to fancy her!

    Still, Dana tried to recover with “I mean to Shane, Carmen has really changed Shane.for the better. Yep, Carmen and Shane, lovely couple.”

    Awkward silence..

    Broken by Lara, “So, you going or not? Cos if you aren’t, then there’s really no point in me going.” She flashed that dazzling smile Dana was thinking about earlier.

    Dana had never had one woman chasing after her, let alone two. And she was always one to have a back up plan incase her original plan fell through, so

    “I’ll be there.”


     

     

    Alice stood in front of her full length mirror in her bedroom, doing deep breathing exercises. She had been looking for her favourite shirt for ‘accenting her best features’ for about an hour, and was losing her patience.

    She said out loud, “It was always kept on the right hand side of the closet. Shit.

    Right hand side.

    Gabby’s side.”

    As in the Gabby who was now out of the picture and had taken the bust boosting shirt with her.

    “Fuuuuuuccckkkk!!!!” Alice kicked her laundry basket across the room, sending the clothes in it flying in all directions.

    Alice looked at one of the garments sprawled out on the floor, raising her eyebrows ‘Hmmmm, I suppose I could go braless with that white tank.yeah, that ought to do it’

    ‘It’ being driving Dana crazy. She knew what pressed her buttons, one of the benefits of being her best friend for seven years. They pretty much know each other inside out through all of the moaning about girlfriends/boyfriends they had both done.

    Pleased with herself, she picked up the top and did herself a little dance on the way to the washing machine.

    1. I don’t get a chance to read many fan fics lately but I’m really liking this one. I love Dana’s awkwardness, it’s always charming,lol. Those two must have it bad for each other to be getting ready so soon. I can’t wait to see what happens at the party, especially since you’re throwing Lara in the mix. Great chapter and post soon.

    5. yeah Shane’s supposed to be with Carmen. I thought Alice would be the best person to deal with this situation because she has always tolerated her ‘player’ lifestyle. But I’m making sure that doesn’t last for long. There’s only so much Shane can get away with!
