    Alice nearly fainted when she realized Dana was talking about 8 AM. Come on Piezecki, waking up early once to have coffee with a gorgeous athlete is not going to kill you.

    “Dana Fairbanks!”

     

    Turning to see who was calling, Dana was dumbfounded to find Alice walking towards her.

     

    “Phew… you guys walk really fast. Hi, Alice Piezecki! You must be Dana’s mom. It’s nice to meet you,” the blonde said with a smile extending her hand to Mrs. Fairbanks.

     

    “Sharon Fairbanks,” the elder Fairbanks replied shaking the offered hand. “How do you know Dana?”

     

    “I..uh.. kinda ran into her when we were here visiting over the summer,” Dana supplied, intrigued at Alice’s appearance. “What’s up Alice?”

     

    “Well, I am writing an article for the school paper about the California State Tennis Championship Tournament and thought that you would be the best person to interview. It looks like you are going to win for the second year in a row. That is really awesome.”

     

    Dana blushed slightly at the compliment and was excited to be in the blondes company. All the apprehension Dana felt when she spotted the blonde earlier faded away. Gay or straight, Alice Piezecki was rapidly becoming someone Dana wanted to know.

     

    “Well, Dana has long day ahead of her tomorrow. Those girls are no slouches, but she’ll be ready. She’s been training for this for years. You know Dana will be attending UCLA starting in the fall?”

     

    Whohoo! Alice’s mind screamed in delight at the bit of news. Although their meeting had been all too brief over the summer, she would find her mind idly wondering about the brunette athelet. It was why she didn’t complain about this assignment…well complain as much as she normally did when she got stuck on covering sports…Stupid sports.

     

    “That’s great! So Dana when do you think will be a good time for an interview?”

     

    “Oh…um..” Dana said looking down at her watch, “We could talk tomorrow morning. My first match isn’t until 10:30. So we could meet at like 8?” Dana noticed how easy it was talking to the blonde now that she figured she was unavailable. Why can’t I can’t be this calm around girls who may actually be interested in me?

    1. Woot! Now I am glad I had to work late so I could see your new chapter!! I am always in the mood for Danish. The flour car thing sounds pretty evil. Sounds like you paid them back good. Secret decoder ring — Hee! You are doing an excellent job writing Danish and building the relationship off that initial attraction. It’s great that Dana feels the pull to be a friend even if (she thinks) they can’t be more. Good for Alice to get the assignment and approach Dana. It is great how relaxed Dana is with Alice. I have to echo the above comments, minus the cricket thing with pandakse, LoL Way to go Dana, she actually talked, even though it was about tennis she still talked and managed to do so with spilling or knocking something over. Hopefully Alice will be a regular at the matches, that would be Sh*T hot. I’m glad that Sharon seems to like Alice now…cant say that she will later but you’re doing an excellent job! Thanks so much for another excellent chapter!
