Another Look Inside (Sequel to Bette and the Business Woman)

It was almost 11 so the party would be drawing to a close soon.  She hoped there were still a few people there that she could meet and network with.  Work was on her mind at all times.  Never miss and opportunity to get new clients is how she felt.

After quickly checking her appearance in a plate glass window she entered the banquet all.  She stood at the door and slowly scanned the room.  After a few seconds, as if a scene from a movie, the crowd parted slightly and she saw her.  Her wife, soon to be anyway, her woman, her partner.  Just then all thoughts of anything work related immediately flew out of her mind.  She stood and just watched Bette from across the room.  She had never seen her like this.  Bette worked the room as if she owned it.  She was charming and funny and sexy as hell.  To top it off all this could be deduced from afar which turned Harmony on even more.  She took pride as she watched the ever expressive Bette talk with her hands as her ring caught the light.  Harmony was so taken aback that she just kept her distance.  Where ever Bette moved she made sure to be on the other side of the room.  For now she just wanted to watch her.  Drink her in.  Simply adore the woman she loved.

Harmony had told her she couldn’t make it to her banquet tonight.  She hated that she couldn’t, especially after missing the first one so she worked in fast forward all day so she could at least catch the tail end and show her she put in some type of effort.  Bette was always there for her so she had no problem breaking her neck to be there for her.  It seems as if the party would be going on for a while.  Harmony was glad there was still a good amount of people still there.  They offered a shield between her and Bette.  Gave her an opportunity to sit back and watch her work.  All the myths were true.  Bette Porter was a shark.  She got things done.  Especially when she’s passionate about something.  Harmony knew that in a….intimate sense but not professionally.  She commanded respect and attention.  Harmony felt her chest well up with pride.  She also felt the pangs of jealousy as women got close to her.  Too close.  She would have to fight the urge to run over every time it happened.  But that wasn’t necessary.  Bette would quickly put them in their place and move on.  That’s my girl.  Harmony would think and smile to herself.

    1. Hey Vibes, another great installment. I totally love the drama free, honeymoon phase, can’t-get-enough-of-each-other stage of love that Bette and Harmony are experiencing. It’s great that their biggest challenge right now is who’s going to walk the dog. Please give us some more happy love with these two. Thanks.

    2. Hey Vibes,I love this line: “A corporate super couple that could very well take over L.A. if they saw fit….” I guess Harmony is going commando on the ride home thanks to Bette and her scissors (lol) Keep up the great work, this story is heart warming.
