Alice smiled.

Alice: I know.

Bette: You do?

Alice: Yeah, and she’s not missing. She um, spent the night here with me.

Bette: Well then, wait until Carmen finds out about that one.

Alice: Oh she already has, and Alex has already gotten the shit beaten out of her. My cross trainers have her all over them.

Bette gave her an odd look.

Alice: Long story. Thanks for the heads up though.

Bette: NO problem. I just don’t want anything to go wrong today, you deserve the best day ever.

Alice: Don’t worry. I will get it, because I’m marrying the best girl ever!

Bette smiled and pulled her friend into a hug.

Bette: I’m so happy for you.

Alice: Well thank you Bette!

Bette: Come on, lets get some food in you.

Bette and Alice smiled warmly at each other, and Bette wrapped an arm around her friend.

Alex, Rory, and Kasey had just finished the movie when there was a knock on the door. Alex checked her watch. It was about time all the Groom’s men started coming, they were all supposed to meet in Alex’ hotel room to get ready. Alex swung open the door and saw her mother standing there, Nathan in one arm, a garment bag in the other.

Alex: Hey ma!

Alex gave her a hug and a kiss, then she kissed Nathan’s head. He giggled. Shane put him down, and he walked in to Kasey and Rory, who each greeted him with hugs.

Shane: Glad to see you’re feeling better.

Alex: Much better, even after a beating from Madre.

Shane: Yeah, sorry bout that!

Alex: hey it was worth it.

Shane smiled at her daughter who took the garment bag and hung it up in the closet, as they continued into the room.

Alex stood at the altar, Shane next to her, as her best man, followed by Kasey, Max, and her grandfather. The bride’s maids then stood at the other side. Carmen was the maid of honor, Rory stood next to her, then Tina, and finally Bette. Angelika, who was the flower girl, sat in the front row, with Nathan, the ring bearer, next to her. Mercedes sat next to them. Alex smiled wide as “here comes the bride” started to play. Alice showed up, from behind the curtain, with her mother on her arm. Her dress was simple, an ankle-length white satin garment, with a big white bow around her waist and tied to the side. Her hair was pulled back into a tight, spiral bun, and she wore that stunning red lipstick. She was then handed to Alex, and her mother joined Mercedes in the front row,who were both now crying. The ceremony began, and Alex and Alice tuned everything out, and just smiled at each other. Alex took in the soft, elegant features of her bride, and Alice watched the tips of Alex’s hair flowing in the wind. It took Alex everything she had not to just take Alice right there. Soon she remembered she was supposed to say “I do”.
